Glad you noticed them! I actually made a thread about SOTNB back in April Fool's. You can find it here. If you look up "star wars scourge of the nevoota bee" there's also some other interesting articles. It was a bit of a joke from Tom Veitch, Rich Handley and Mike Beidler, Tom Veitch commenting on a bad tape of Episode IV: A New Hope, Rich Handley sending out an April Fool's mail and Mike Beidler combining both jokes into one. Beidler's website had a whole section on the SOTNB novel trilogy, audio books, radio dramas and a 50-issue comic series. It also made it onto another old Lostworlds timeline, so I decided to have it in a joke. Imperial Blood, as with the last four Rise of the Empire entries, the last three Rebellion entries and the second New Republic entry, is the English title of one of the infamous Hungarian Star Wars novels. I have a thread about the books over here (the novels are currently in translation). So yeah, those are just little easter eggs for the eager eye... Unless, of course, you read this thread.

I've just updated the Lostworlds page on my blog. The page can be found here. Now I've got the original Han/Leia books and Heart of the Jedi, and soon I'll be updating with Jedi Prince books 7-9. Hope you like it!

If we can also talk about reference books, I am very unhappy that "The Essential Characters" by Daniel Wallace and "History of the Old Republic" did not make it.

Especially cause as per artist all 100 character illustrations, many first time depictions among that, were finished months before cancellation! And never released since then. Why can't they show them off even without the book? Such nuggets are worth gold to Legends fans! sigh

I inquired with artist and authors back then even to get a glimpse to no avail.

Ouch. As someone fascinated by visual depictions of literary-only characters, this REALLY stings.
And as for the latter question... I suspect legal/NDA stuff still applies even to unreleased content.

Awe man I didn't even KNOW these existed! Now I have to live with this disappointment.

    Those Rakata look super cool.

Was Lomi Plo one of them? FIFTEEN YEARS and still no picture of her, despite being the main villain of a series. Has long stuck in my craw.

I am definitely including all reference material. I must say that I haven't seen those last two pics though.

Yeah, I would just buy it for these illustrations alone. For example I was really hoping to see a "realistic" (non video game) rendition of Revan and the Jedi Exile who (according to Dan Wallace) were supposed to be in the book.

Have you inquired Del Rey by chance? Maybe @DarthInternous might at least check the situation of these illustrations for us?
Here are other pictures from it. According to the artist the book was an "attempt to make sense of the Star Wars: Legends stuff that is no longer considered 'canon' by LucasFilm".

We do not share material from cancelled, proposed, unfinished or unpublished books. And generally creators are not authorized to share them either without permission (since the copyright on text/images for SW books do not sit with the authors or artists, but with Lucasfilm. Just look inside the copyright page of any of your SW books to see that).

It amazes me to this day that the Scourge of the Nevoota Bee in-joke still has legs. It's been what? A quarter-century since I planted that "Easter egg" in my Star Wars Literature Compendium?

Wow! Great to see you're back on the forums! I'm so glad that you commented. I always wondered if you were going to post again. Scourge of the Nevoota Bee is probably one of my favourite pieces of Star Wars material that I've ever rea... Oh, wait. I actually did a whole lot of research about it, and in my post you quoted, there's a link to a SOTNB thread I made almost a year back or something. I also made quite a few mock up covers for the fun of it, three for Dark Horse Omnibuses for the 50-issue comic (1, 2, 3) and one incomplete one for the first book. As for how long it's been, according to Archive.org, you last updates your page with the Nevoota Bee joke in 1999, so yeah, about a quarter of a century. As I said, great to see you buzzing back (pun intended).

nice job on those Nevoota Bee Omnibus mock-ups. I like when Empatojayos Brand shows up in unexpected places.

Thanks! I love doing mockups. I think I actually have a few other mockups throughout this thread for Mandorla, the Lando Calrissian Sourcebook and some others. I even made a mockup for Rise of the Dark Falls Dark Horse Omnibuses, if anybody knows what that is.

P.S. The Imperial Wookiee on the third omnibus cover is actually concept art from Free Radical's cancelled Battlefront 4, where Jedi are Sith, Sith are Jedi and all that stuff. And yep, Chewie would have been an Imperial.

Thanks so much! Finding obscure things from my favourite franchises is one my passions. Twisted Metal has Sweet Tooth golf, Counter-Strike has its Asian counterparts, the MCU has its mangas (if that's a word), and Star Wars has Lostworlds, Valhalla books, Derek J. Reda and Scourge of the Nevoota Bee, and, well, I've got threads for all of those!
Lando Calrissian Sourcebook, Mandorla, and quite a bit of Knightfall. I also have Dark Horse's cancelled original Invasion comic series (ya know, the one with the "bladed" weapon for the invaders that would allow them to fight toe-to-toe against Luke and any other Jedi they might encounter according to Rich Handley), the original NJO: Dark Tide II, the Courtship of Princess Leia Sourcebook, a PDF of all of the Gil Kane Dark Force Rising art with a custom cover, this cover and this cover (just saying, the background of this one is from some Polish Star Wars fan-site I found with translations of the first two issues in Polish) from two classic TheForce.net fan-comic series (and just FYI, these covers are from actual collections that I'm making for the two series that I hope to release shortly. They're also crammed with so many awesome pieces of concept art and other little thingies), and of course, mockups for Rise of the Dark Falls (some information about the art used). Thanks for asking!

Thank you, Darth Fandom, for that post loaded with Easter eggs. The Mandorla file uses one of my favorite cover art pieces of Nomi. You also included some obscure stuff that doesn't always get mentioned when people bring up cancelled series.

Yeah, obscurities are always the greatest parts of franchises. In fact, that's what Lostworlds are always about.

And in other Lostworlds news, I've managed to find Battlefront: Elite Squadron for PPSSPP. For those of you who don't know why a fully and officially published PSP game is on this list, it's because B:ES is actually a sort of port of Free Radical's Battlefront III, which is a Lostworld. Trying it out on the weekend.
