Saga Love Is All You Need (2021 Fanfic Olympics Triathalon)

Welcome everybody, to my second attempt at the Fanfic Olympics.

This year's featured pairing is Mace Windu, alias Lance Stormbreaker, and my OC Claire Moonstep.

The pairing was introduced in a set of drabbles from my UDC thread. It's required reading to understand what's going on here, but it shouldn't take very long, because hey, they're drabbles.

Glad you like it. I wondered as I was writing whether it might come off as a pretty big coincidence, but then again, I've heard it said that the Force doesn't do coincidences.

 

I just love the idea that Mace survived. That is an amazing thing all on it's own.

 

I read somewhere that Samuel L. Jackson said concerning his role as Mace Windu, "Just don't make me go out like a punk." Well, his canon death may have been non-punk enough to satisfy SLJ, but it wasn't very satisfying to me, so I decided to fix that by letting him live.

 

This is so unique, and like @JediMaster_Jen I love the idea of Mace surviving! I also just read the drabble set that goes with this, and I love that too. Fantastic start!

Oh this is awesome! I remember those bits in your drabble thread, and this is even better. I just love Claire's dialect, and I love the fact that, by making this a continuation to "Name", you're giving the 110-Word Hurdle prompt an extra dimension. Plus, as the ladies said above, Mace surviving just, well has to happen! I'll be watching this thread with great interest.

Azure, hi! And thank you. I'm having fun, which I think is really the main point.

 

Killing off Mace was a very stupid thing SW did considering someone like Maul (and freakin' Palpy for crying out loud) survived so I'm glad he's happy here! And yes, he deserves a romantic interest, why not? Looking forward to more!
