Pretty well nothing, so let's bear that in mind.

They might not object at this stage, but as this is my living, not my hobby, I do not want to risk ticking off my major client. (Plus it's discourteous to do it, of course.)

I put a lot of thought into that. :D

But there is little truth in the rumour that the word for Ewok is the same as the word for "fur-lined gauntlets".

Thank you very much for that list, Karen :)

I see, in some points (like kyr'am and kandosii) I guessed right.

There were a few words and phrases that took some retconning because what works for lyrics doesn't always work for a spoken language. The pronunciation was interesting, because I changed that for modern Mando'a to make it easier. But then those of you who speak French know that sung French is pronounced a little differently to spoken French - best example being "Frere Jacques".

There might be a way of providing a downloadable format and/or a dictionary-style format via the web hosted from this site.

Theoretically, of course, if that's what Karen (and LFL) wanted to do.

That would be the best idea. I hope they make it like that, and please.... no Hyperspace if possible.

    Interesting, Karen

*looks over some of the other posts*

I get the feeling you're gonna get "whats Mando for" quite a few times.

That's why I'm repeating the plea not to ask me at this stage.

Sign me up. I suck at German, and Im required to know two languages to pass school, so why not use Mando'a(too lazy to italicize) :D

The intention is for this to be self-directed study once the lexicon and grammar are in the public domain.

I've noticed that you've made vod the Mando'a word for brother. However, in Cestus Deception, we learned that Jangotat mean's Jango's brother. So is tat seems to also mean brother. I guess the question is, is one word from an older version of Mando'a, or does one refer to an actual biological brotherhood, and the other a more symbolic one?

Also, on a slightly different note, I'm more interested in pronunciation than meanings at this point. I can wait, barely, for LFL to decide how to make the dictionary available to the public, but I would like to know how to pronounce the words I already know.

Tat is Concord Dawn dialect, whatever that language is called.

At this stage, so I don't have to spend ages rendering the list above phonetically, why not listen to the RepCom soundtrack? If you don't have the game, you can play it or download the tracks from the LucasArts site.

Either that or tat is the word for Brother as in family, and the other Brother as in war comrade??

Not to try and spin it

Yes, that is one of my key interests, as well.

After listening to the game sondtrack, I've been wondering if the "c" in tracyn is pronounced as "s" or "sh".
