Death Note: [plot]Yagami Raito/Light (Kira) is an extremely intelligent young man who resents the crime and corruption in the world. His life undergoes a drastic change in the year 2003, when he discovers a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note", lying on the ground. The Death Note's instructions claim that if a human's name is written within it, that person shall die. Light is initially skeptical of the Death Note's authenticity, believing it is just a prank. However, after experimenting with it and killing two criminals, Light is forced to admit that the Death Note is real. After meeting with the previous owner of the Death Note, a shinigami named Ryuk, Light seeks to become "the God of the new world" by passing his judgment on criminals.

Soon, the number of inexplicable deaths of reported criminals catches the attention of the International Police Organization and a mysterious detective known only as "L". L quickly learns that the serial killer, dubbed by the public as "Kira" (derived from the Japanese pronunciation of the word "Killer"), is located in Japan. L also concludes that Kira can kill people without laying a finger on them. Light realizes that L will be his greatest nemesis, and a game of psychological cat and mouse between the two begins.

A question about those colours again.
i once saw a beautiful set of armour that was still metal-cloloured, meaning not painted at all.
Would that mean anything, or are you just too poor to affor the lquer?

I don't think the Mando's celebrate Christ's birth some how.........but the Wookie Merry Life Day is something like WRRRROOOORRRRRRRRRWWWWWOOORRRRRKOOK! Maybe we need a thread.......No? OK, your right. The Wookie language would be a bit to hard.

Yeah wookiee language has to many roars and growls in it. It might just be easier to say Merry Christmas in basic but Wookiees can't speak it so.

So, I found a "Mandalorian Alphabet" on the Wiki page for Mando'a, but I don't see it anywhere on the Wook (which is generally my first place to look for what's canon).

Does anyone know if this is canon? What's the source?

(Yeah, I may be doing a project relating to Mandos)

Almost certainly fanon. Wikipedia is a pathetic source for anything Star Wars, as the articles are just . . . not maintained well. At all. Because all the people who actually know about Star Wars are on the Wook.:p

Possibly, but have you listened to the audio files of Karen Traviss speaking Mando'a on her site? It sounds a lot less bizarre than you might think.

IIRC, the alphabet shown there is derived from Slave I's monitors in AotC. You can sort of see it here, and there's a webpage related to it, which I think was brought to Karen's attention when she still frequented the boards. As I recall, she stated that it was more or less the same as the Mandalorian alphabet she'd gotten from the holocron, but then again, I could very well be wrong. [face_thinking]

Salut to everybody. At once I'm sorry for if my question has already been asked earlier. But I wonder how to translate the term "the Force" to Mando'a?

Please, don't send me to searching :) It's quiet difficult to look for the necessary information throughout foreign sources. :)

P.S. Excuse my bad English :)

    Go to the site.

    www.karentraviss.com

Look for the bit that says "Mando'a Language Resource" next to the mythosaur(whatever) skull.

    Click the hyperlink "here".

Scroll down the page to find four links that go to Karen speaking in Mando'a.
