ST Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker) in Episode VII

Mark's points on the OT were crazy. He got the most, which I think was 3.5%. Which adds up with all the re-releases. He also got one of every piece of merchandise made. He told a funny story about thinking it would be a t-shirt, poster, and hopefully a lunch box. A guy showed up at his house from LFL with a delivery truck to drop stuff off. He also told the story of how his son wanted to play with the figures but being a collector himself he didn't want them getting destroyed, so he took his son to the toy store. His son picked out every Luke figure and toy and when he went to the register the guy looked at the toys with his face on them and looked back at Mark. Mark said they were for his son and the guy said sure they are.

 

Tom Cruise doesn't look anywhere close to a typical 50 year old. Horrid example.

I've seen plenty of men in their 50's who look like Mark, if not older. Plenty.

 

Something that has always bothered me. Luke's hand gets cut at the wrist in ESB. Yet, it looks like they had to cut most of his forearm off to insert his robot hand.

I always thought that was weird.

 

well, you do need a good place to attach the prosthetic to and house the controls.

 

They had to cut off more of his arm to fit all the mechanical parts.

 

T-R is right. They had to add the controls so they went into his forearm and probably took some tissue out for the controls. I think this is the future of amputations so "Star Wars" was really ahead of it's time.

1 question. This is all awesome and I love Mark but WHY did they let him wear cargo shorts??

I see that he has grown out the hair to be more Luke-like. AWESOME!!

 

so, if he looks like Kenobi, all the people that think Dom looks like Kenobi must now agree Dom looks like Mark

anyway, Luke looking like Ben is one of the reasons I didn't want him with a beard. Keep Luke as Luke

 

That is true.

But Lucas had always envisioned an older Luke in the same vein as Obi-Wan.

The craziest thing was Alec was 63 when "Star Wars" was released and Mark will be 63 when "Episode VII" is released. It all came full circle folks:

 

He looks like what Luke would look like if Luke had a beard. Strangely enough he also looks like what Mark would look like if Mark had a beard.

the beard actually makes him look younger.. face it he hasn't aged well-at all.. Harrison Ford looks better than him... having said that I hope he retains the beard, I also really hope he does most of his fight sequences ... I don't want to see a stand in with a crappy CGI Luke Face

 

i also don't think the rebels had access to the best tech.

 

The tech is good enough to make the hand look fleshy, at least. Anakin's hand in the PT doesn't look like that.
