The "Warlord" figures that I posted, I had the top row and Machestie in the middle row. The one in front of Travis, but my copy of Mikola did not have white in his hair. I did give his bow to Bow since the one he had was total crap.

    Official Trailer

This looks like it's got the makings of something pretty epic. The VA casting just keeps getting better. Keith David as Hordak is beyond anything I could've hoped for.

    Nice

Is it me or was there a quick clip of Gwildor in there near the end?

It wasn't you. I think they're pulling out all of the stops in this series. Anything is canon now. Kevin Smith might get Dolph Lundgren to VA one of the characters just for the heck of it.

    Not Randor!

Interesting that the trailer is pushing Skeletor as the big bad instead of Hordak, maybe he'll only appear in the second half of the season.

I'm also curious how they will use He-Man in this now that the Sorceress can now leave Grayskull and is vastly powerful.
We saw last time what the backlash was to reducing He-Man's presence in the show

Yeah right. Heaven forbid anyone is more powerful than He-man, especially a woman. [face_plain]

Sorceress was always more powerful, but the purpose of the Champion was to be her way of protecting Eternia since she couldn't leave the castle and use her powers.

Season 1 says she can, so why use He-Man at all if she can solve the majority of problems herself now?

Because two is better than one? Considering Hordak and his Horde are on the way, it's not like Skeletor is the only thing that He-Man has to deal with.

Man At Arms seemed to be able to waste half an army himself last season, it'll be interesting to see how powerful the Horde are for our heroes (especially Teela & Orco).

And I like that there will be focus on technology over magic this time, seeing as Hordak is much more about that.
It will be weird not having Shadow Weaver though

One thing that it doesn't suggest is the notion on Adam's long lost sister. Granted She-Ra's got her own animated reboot on Netflix; but considering they're opening up the larger canon with the Evil Horde, you wonder if/when Adora might make an appearance. Yeah, I know in the 80s it was suggested they were in alternate universes; but you can pretty much throw that out the window with Hordak coming in. Maybe they'd end this season with a significant cliffhanger; the protagonists are in a bind they can't possibly get out of, and you see a silhouette of a woman from another dimension with a sword that's similar to Adam's.

This article that I came across discusses the "She-Ra situation"

I believe they can use Hordak & The Horde, but nothing else from She-Ra that is original to that show.

Why did Snake Mountain come with the random karaoke microphone?

If the She-Ra show is over, she can be used. Mattel owns both franchises and Netflix has the streaming rights to both. All that is left is working out a deal to use those characters.

As to Snake Mountain, the microphone was supposed to represent an evil Snake spirit.

Mattel doesn't own the TV rights to both though, it sold the She-Ra screen rights to DreamWorks in a similar way to what Marvel did with Spider-Man.

For Kevin Smith's show to use Shadow Weaver or Adora they would have to do a deal with Dreamworks

It's so ridiculously confusing. Once upon a time they were all under the Mattel label. I guess considering that She-Ra reboot kids' show is finished, they might consider working out a deal with Kevin Smith.

KS as well as Dreamworks could even capitalize on the merchandising. I know I've seen those poor excuses for the She-Ra action figures in the bargain bins over the past couple of years, but the MOTU figures are nice collector's items.

It's kind of like the weird situation with Star Trek in the past before the viacom-cbs merger.

Mattel can't just use the character on TV just because she doesn't have a show, Dreamworks still needs to approve.
They are apparently working on a Live Action series with Amazon, that probably would probibit She-Ra from appearing in any He-Man movie

With all the talk over technology and Gwildor showing up (side-by-side with his spirit origin character of Orko), fingers crossed that if there's a Season 3, it is just an adaptation of the live action movie.

New trailer looks epic. Just sad they only have 5 episodes this time instead of 10 (and with the CG show cancelled and Netflix’s habit for cancellations I hope they do give this a solid conclusion not a “to be continued”).

Sad they can’t use She-Ra but watching the trailer I’m not sure how big a roll Hordak is going to have. Fitting in She-Ra as well, and making it all satisfying, would be a big ask. Since they only have 5 episodes I’m guessing

Skeletor brings Hordak to Eternia but quickly kills/usurps him and takes over the Horde army himself since the focus here looks very much to be He-Man/Adam versus Skeletor for the throne.

Putting that behind spoilers just in case. It’s total speculation on my part, but if I’m right I don’t want to have unintentionally ruined anything for anyone.

As for Teela’s power level - whatever it is as Sorceress clearly isn’t enough for the current threat so she goes after snake powers as well (as seen in the trailer).

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the 5 episodes for this season is just their attempt to avoid the "Part 1 / Part 2" structure that Season 1 had, and that we will, in fact, have a "Season 3" revealed to be streaming relatively shortly after Season 2 ends. But, in reality, that "Season 3" will have really been "Season Part 2".

So Dark Horse will be releasing a new four-issue prequel comic series beginning in May to tell the story of Hordak and Skeletor before the known events of the MOTU timeline.

As what I typically do with comic series that I have some interest in, I'll wait for the ominbus/Graphic novel to come out.

I thought it was a good second season.
Though I don't know why it was made as 5 episodes instead of 10, that made the story feel a little bit rushed.

I like that the show is combining the 1980s & 2002 canons together.

Some of the magic logic doesn't make a lot of sense. If Evil-Lyn having The Power was able to destroy Preternia, why can't the Sorceress simply do the same thing and restore it? She can use the Sword to empower herself and have the same level of magic and then give it back to Adam when she chooses.
Instead she has to go on a rapid side quest to find magic staffs.

Interesting final scene. Is that Shadow Weaver talking? And we hear mention of Horde Prime which must mean a She-Ra crossover is happening
