A/N: This one is inspired by ginchy's "The Game", apologies if that isn't the exact title LOL

Luke and Mara have been apart and when they finally reunite he's all caught up in a game.

She gets caught up in it too

Mara sighed. That karking game! It was one of those hopeless puzzle cubes that was invented to be unsolvable.

She and Luke had finally found out that it was a Jedi test of some sort and had rolled their eyes at one another in frustration.

"And to think," Luke remarked wryly, gazing into her green eyes, "I could have been ... saying a proper hello to you all this while."

Mara smirked. "Did you look at your schedule, Skywalker?"

"No ... I just know it's full!" He groaned.

"Not anymore," Mara grinned wickedly. "Working with Ghent has taught me a thing or two. I moved all your appointments to tomorrow."


"Thanks, love! But why ..."

Mara silenced him with a kiss so deep that his toes curled. "Why do you think?" she purred huskily. "I missed you."

They spent the day enjoying one another quite thoroughly.

Getting Stuck in a Lift

Luke and Mara weren't dating yet, they were in the ... want to but won't even admit that to myself yet stage.

They were in a lift tube, trying even not to look at each other.

If she looked at him, she'd notice how well his pecs looked in that well-fitted button-down shirt, which she did not want to unbutton ... yeah right.

And he'd gawk at the way her full breasts strained at her silken blouse.

Then the lift stopped.

Their eyes met as another passenger opened a side panel to see if he could get the lift going again.

then over the inset speaker, there was an announcement that the maintenance droids were "working on it."

"Better hurry." Mara growled. "I'm late already for a meeting ..."

Luke grimaced. "that you didn't want to go to in the first place ..."

"Hey, you're the one who talked me into the whole Liaison job." She snarked, but her eyes laughed. "You cannot tell me you enjoy those things!"

"Krell, no! I just pretend to be listening... when Fey'lya starts his inevitable rant."

Mara laughed. "Someone needs to pour a bucket of iced ale all over that gundark's head."

Luke laughed. "I'm not even sure that would do any good."

The lift started with a jolt and Luke grabbed hold of Mara, perhaps unnecessarily.

But they both enjoyed the contact.

"Makes you almost wish you were going on a run to the most backwater of places, doesn't it?" She asked as they stepped out of the car.

"Like Kestos Minor?" Luke recalled a time when he and Han had been there and he'd felt the strangest Force-tug.

Mara frowned. She'd been on Kestos Minor once too, the recipient of a very welcome deed by an unknown stranger ... There'd been a touch of something - very interesting.

"Or Myrkr." Luke added. Mara had definitely not been his ally then, much less his friend, but he had noticed her right from the start -- how gorgeous she was!

And Mara -- she frowned. If it hadn't been for that last command, she'd have been in a position to notice Luke ... properly.

They gazed at each other for a long moment.

It wasn't the moment to think about the almost-sort-ofs ... but they certainly deserved some investigating.

Mara tried not to laugh!

But she couldn't help it!

Luke had soap suds in his hair and lashes where he was giving baby Serena her bath; Samira was already swathed in cutesy pink pyjamas with feet.

Serena loved the water and was splashing merrily, which action threatened to soak her twin, who was for now out of liable to get wet-range.

More like soaked! Mara mused.

Luke caught his wife's eye and smirked.

"Once the gals are asleep, you'll just have to help me ... clean up." He winked.

Mara took pity on him then and went to help. She loved watching him with the kids; he was so loving and happy as a daddy!

Later, as the senior Skywalkers shared a ripple bath, intermingled with tickles and long kisses, Luke complimented Mara, having caught the tail-end of her happy thoughts about him earlier.

"And you make a great mommy."

"Shhh, Skywalker!" Mara mock-frowned. "Don't let that get out!"

They laughed, emerged from the bath and toweled one another dry, very slowly.

Then they curled around one another quite snugly.

After an unusually long day of work and dealing with the kids, both were sleepy and drifted to sleep quickly.

Mara was reputedly not a morning person, but Luke could quite often get her to enjoy a loving marital romp first thing in the morning, before the kids stirred.

One of the perks of being an early riser, Luke thought.

Mara loved snuggling with Luke. It so often led to other superb activities, very very often.

She loved the feeling of safety and warmth and love that being held gave to her. She'd felt alone and adrift for so long and never expected or hoped or thought to be cared about as a friend so deeply, much less desired so avidly by Luke who was - undeniably ... edible.

He was a very affectionate person in general, and he took to holding her as naturally as breathing.

In their early days, she'd had to get used to the literal facets of being so close, pleasant as they were!

He'd teased her when he sensed her momentary discomfiture. "It's not you, Luke." She'd assured. "It's just -- in general."

"Yes, well, I guess in the good old bad days, you didn't have much chance for being embraced." He remarked. The tone was definitely sympathetic, not condescending or flippant in the slightest. Luke was not a fast liver during his teen years, but even he had had the chance for the typical teen guy fantasy/crushing over a cute classmate.

His actual forays into romance until Mara hadn't exactly been ... fortuitous.

"That's because none of them were me." Mara quipped.

"Ah, my love." He murmured. "You don't know how true that is!"

She grinned, loving it when he called her love.

Luke laughed at her reaction and kissed a trail along her neck and up to her smirking mouth. "Callista ... we never did the deed you know." He confessed.

"Really? Not even when you went to that comet retreat?" Mara couldn't quite keep the glee out of her voice.

"No, she was too focused on regaining the Force and ... every time we got close, the strangest thing happened, although of course I'd never tell her that and I certainly wouldn't admit it to you, either -- you might actually renew that last command." He winked. "Since then, you barely had two words for me, so I had no reason to expect you'd be anything close to thrilled."

Mara was intrigued. "What?" This has got to be good! She thought with an inner laugh.

"Whenever I kissed her or even took her in my arms, I wished, imagined it was you!"

Mara beamed and inwardly gloated.

"Did you, indeed?" She asked. "Oh, Farmboy, you deserve a sweet reward for that confession!"

Mara tackled him lovingly, and Luke thought happily that he'd picked just the right moment to tell her.

I guess you read my comment that I wished Luke had a raging case of E.D. during his time with Callista. But I would think thinking about Mara while Callista was in his arms would have actually boosted his libido. I guess I should not look too deeply for answers and just be happy that in your universe I don't need to hurl.

I may put Callista in my fic, but I am not sure if it is too corny...would you like a preview of what I wrote?
