ST "Mizzlewump" Rumor - Too Many Coincidences?

I also really like the star destroyer idea, and agree that it's a more natural progression of his character than dismissing his OT character arc and having him revert back to smuggling. Do not want to see this.

 

Regardless of whether or not he's piloting a Star Destroyer, do you really see the Falcon in somebody else's hands at the start of the movie? This is going to be a passing the torch thing ... in my mind this is things like Luke's lightsaber, R2 & 3PO and, yes the Falcon, (oh, and also a bit of Force skills )

 

Yeah, but I think possibly they might want the characters and the film to earn these moments, if that makes sense.

 

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet but Han was commanding Mon Cal cruisers in the old EU up until the Courtship of Princess Leia. I'm not sure if this is a nod to that or not but it's pretty cool.

I'm sure Han would disagree. He is not the hero type.Of couse I don't think he is smuggling either. Most likely training an apprentice.

 

Mizzlewump sounds like an STD.

 

This one is hard to figure out. When Driver was originally cast Variety said his character would be in the "vein of iconic Star Wars villain Darth Vader" which leads me to believe Cyborg guy. Latino Review said he was actually Vaders apprentice. To me though the Emperor's secret apprentice played by MVS with Driver as his pupil makes more sense, it seemed like Sidious was always making back up plans so it wouldn't shock me if they said Sidious had a secret apprentice should Luke join Vader against him, he could have someone waiting in the wings and declare them a new Sith Lord. Similar to how he was grooming Anakin while Dooku was around, esp post TCW when we saw Dooku having multiple apprentices and attempts at them to go against Sidious.

 

Part of Han's Journey was becoming the hero he never saw himself as. I think after ROTJ he would have pursued his Military career more seriously, especially if The Empire didn't just go away after being defeated like most assumed.

As my username would suggest, I was, and still am, a great fan of the Mortis story arc from TCW. I do quite like the idea of Luke moving beyond the dark or the light. Read the quote from the Mortis arc in my signature. Anakin refused that role. Perhaps Luke might, somehow, make-up for his father's decision not to take the father's place in Mortis.

 

I liked the Mortis and Yoda arcs as well, albeit they were extremely weird but they help expand the mystical aspect of the saga. However, I'm not sure if these fantastical locations and beings would translate well into the live action ST. I'm open to anything though...

 

It is incredible how all these points have yet to be contradicted by any other rumor. I would say that the Big 3 parts are almost certain. The Republic and the Empire part seems to be pretty accurate too, and so seems to be the super weapon part. Finally, the Solo girl and the Stormtrooper as leads is pretty much what we have been hearing about Daisy and John roles.

What could be off? Right now I have doubts regarding:

1) Luke seems to be missing for a lot of time, and he seems to be held captive for some time too. What have he done during that time?. The Mizzlewump reports seems to suggest no more Jedis have been trained. Which could be likely due to the fact that JJ and Kasdan might want the audience to see how a new Jedi Order is started with Ridley and Boyega as Luke´s apprentices.

3) Mizzlewump claimed the third lead was Lando´s kid. That could mean Isaac, as he seems to be linked to both Lando and Han (remember Variety, THR and The Wrap reported he was a hero and had some Han Solo type role), and seems to be the new pilot of the Falcon. But, somehow, I find weird that he has been defined as the new Lando, when Lando was never that important and was more like a secondary role. Maybe the reference Devin made is due to the fact that Han passes him the Falcon like he did with Lando during ROTJ.

3) The baddies. He have heard lately the reports about the Inquisitors, and previously about Jedi Hunters. But what we first heard was the lost Palpatine´s apprentice. I think it will be a combination of both. Von Sydow and Driver seem to fit the description of the villains Mizzlewump does. Almost perfectly, as von Sydow character could have been 50 years old when Palpatine died, it fits the timeline well. And we know Driver plays the villain. Maybe the Jedi Hunters/Inquisitors are there. A few secondary villains like Grievous that are trained in the Dark Side. I can see Lupita playing this role, and has already been reported.

4) Luke´s offsrping. We have not heard anything about Luke having kids. We know he has been missing and we know he is captive during the movie. He could very well have had a kid, as Mizzlewump stated not KNOWN offspring. But if so we might not seem him/her on this movie, or we may see him at the end. But even if Luke has kids, they don´t seem to be part of the lead trio. As the rumors have been suggesting and as Mizzlewump post stated.

 

I think that's very close. Details may be off, but as you say, there has been nothing major to contradict any of this and a fair bit to back it up.

 

Does worthwhile speculation exist on what would be the nature or the principle of the, or a, dark side weapon?

 

Stupid question alert: Who is JVS?

 

He means MVS.

 

Assuming Max is even a villain. There are a lot of roles he could be playing. He is 85 years old, after all, can he really commit to a ten year gig like a trilogy of Star Wars films?

 

Darth Ruin?

 

Unless he's the master that gets owned by the apprentice (Driver/ Ruin).

 

I think MVS age makes even more sense with the Mizzlewump rumor. It clearly seems the apprentice will overpower the master soon. Probably the master dies soon in the trilogy. I could see him dying in the first movie. That's why they might have been ok with MVS age.

 

It would be good to see an apprentice actively murder/ kill/ take down his master. I know Vader does in ROTJ, but that's an act of self-sacrifice as well. Would be a good way to set up how powerful the apprentice is too. Anyone who can take down MVS must be villainy supreme in my book.

 

I can't see any issue with Isaacs playing Lando's son.

 

Something along these lines. Plus, if you haven't seen it it's good for a fanfilm.

Me neither. Not saying that means Isaac is Lando's son. But if he was, I would be totally down with that.
