MTV VMA's 2003!!!!

Other than 50 cent and Madonna, the rest of the live performances sucked.

 

I only watched the Coldplay performance. 'Twas grrreat.

 

MTV is crap.

It was only half-decent when I was a kid and they only played videos.

Now, it's the stoop-to-the-lowest-common-denominator trash TV.

I applaud the young folks in here who loathe MTV, you already show that your taste is above and beyond the riff raff.

 

It is crap. But I'll watch anything with Britney in it. Anything at all.

 

Yeah I forgot, coldplay were good too...

Other than the Justin-Britney pranks, Chris Rock made some lame jokes..

 

i remember i had bought ONE, can you belive that one!, NO MTV for a buck at a show one time, when i should have boughten like ten of them, so that i will never run out of them

Coldplay was the only reason to watch.

 

The fact that Justin Timberlake beat Johny Cash, really for me says it all. To me that trumps Jethro Tull beating Metallica.

A friend of mine (she's 22) argues this generation, 13-18 year olds, is arguable the dumbest of all time. And that by watching MTV you can see undeniable proof of this, I however remember the Bangels and Tiffany. Perhaps it's generational dumbness that is imposed on every American Generation?

Also, being a rap fan, it's horrible the crap they try to push off on MTV as HipHop, my god is anyone fooled by these charlatans? Where the hell was the Three 6 mafia? Kottonmouth Kings? Common? Or anyone doing something interesting???

When will Vanilla Ice get his lifetime achievement award and perform a song with Eminem?

This place is supposed to be PG, not PG-13.

Since we're going with an MPAA analog to the JC's policy on acceptable content, would anyone kindly explain the difference(s) between a PG and a PG-13 rating, and whether or not there is a substantive difference in the content of a PG and PG-13 film?

IMO, those pictures weren't appropriate. There's no reason to have pictures of two people making out, regardless of their genders.

Bettter do something about the banner then...

 

PG-13 is a PG with more blood and gore. That's the reason they came up with the PG-13 originally, anyways ... I don't think it was to stop kids seeing two women make out, while they can see a man and a woman make out all they bloody please.

 

That picture of Britney and Madonna kissing is on MSN's homepage. And USAToday's frontpage. It's just two people kissing? What's the big deal?

I admit it, I may have made a bad decision. Sorry, it was a judgement call, and I probably should have left it for a JCC mod. However, given what isn't allowed in Fan Fic, I figured that it wouldn't be allowed here.

That's all that moderating usually is, a series of judgement calls. Hopefully, we make the right decisions the majority of the times. But yes, there will be times that we make a mistake. I'm human, and I'll admit that I make mistakes.

However, I think everyone would appreciate it if this thread went back to discussing the VMA's, instead of discussing what was edited. There's a thread in Communications to discuss my editing. I'm also open to discussing things via PM.

 

Okay, back to diss-cussing the VMAs. So, they sucked again, huh? It boggles the mind.

 

There were a lot of black d00ds at the VMA's.

 

mtv might just be tolerable if they did the exact opposite of everything they did, ever.

and it's ridiculous thinking of yourself as better for preferring one group wielding guitars over another.

 

It's all well and good that you admit your mistake, Jeff, but now, due to the "unified front" policy, that mistake has been incorporated into the official rules. I told you there would be a ****storm. And here we are, with gale force **** flying about our heads.

And haven't people been saying for years that MTV and the VMAs suck? Both are nothing more than parodies of what they used to be. I like to think they know this, which is the only logical explanation for the catastrophe that is that network anymore.

I remember when MTV and the VMAs were about celebrating good music and good videos. Now, it's about producing "memorable moments" so they can plug themselves with a "behind the scenes" commercial next year.

What a disgrace.

 

Justin Timberlake won a lot of awards. I love his music. He much better on his own than with those other nerds, who are they? yeah n'sync.
