What kind of music do you like? Do you/did you ever play any instrument? Do you sing proffessionally? In the shower? In the middle of the night when noone else is around? Is it pop? Jazz? Classical? Hard Rock? Country? What kind of stuff do you think makes a good piece of music?

Do you have any links to music/songs that you like?

One song that I particularly like is Here.

I started playing violin when I was about 5, switched to viola when I was 15, and I still play in random orchestra-like thingys, such as the Gilbert and Sullivan company pit orchestra, and a random connie who wants to put together an orchestra to play Brahms 3rd Symphony. And I take lessons. Speaking of which, I need to hop over to the con to see who my teacher is this year...

I also play basic 'cello, recorder, handbells, and a teensy weensy bit of piano. And I have a guitar that I wish to learn to play.

My tastes in listening to music are fairly eclectic. My iTunes playlist includes such genres as ska, alternative, gospel, classical, rock, Christian rock, rock-ish classical, soundtrack, original cast recordings... I have a lot. Favourite groups at present are Five Iron Frenzy and Relient K. I'm also a fan of Evanescence, the Goo Goo Dolls, Veggie Tales, and Shostakovich.

Favourite songs include Every New Day and Dandelions (Five Iron), Quartet no. 8 in C Minor (Shostakovich), Failure to Excommunicate (Relient K), Explosive (Bond), and The Hairbrush Song (Veggie Tales).

In case you hadn't noticed, I kinda like music. :)

    Veggie Tales are awesome. :D

I have a fairly eclectic taste too. Some of my favorite bands are:

VNV Nation - a European dance/techno/industrial... thing. I'm not sure exactly what kind of music it is but I love their songs.

AFI - I think it's punk, only like a few good songs.

    Explosions in the Sky

    Dream Theatre

Other than that, I really like anything by John Williams, movie soundtracks in general, oldies, and country music.

I love Veggie Tales! I actually have a little number to call for working at the VT stand in the mall...maybe I should check it out.

I've played flute since I was in fourth grade, which is a little over 8 years now. I haven't actually played the flute for a long time, though, since I picked up piccolo full time three years ago. It's a lot of fun and I love it. I didn't make it into Grand Valley's concert band, but perhaps I can do a few things at church or something this year.

I used to play the French Horn in band. My older sister and brother played the trumpet, and I didn't want to do that but I thought band would be fun. I liked how french horns look on Christmas decorations so I decided to pick that. :p

I played from 6-9th grade then grew to hate being in band so I quit. But, I started drafting class cause I needed and elective and found out I love working on comupters so I ended up doing computer design classes. And thats what I'm hoping to go into professionaly when I finish college.

I do sing around the house when no one's home, mostly rock and pop. My favorite band is Matchbox Twenty and has been since I first heard them perform "Push" on Jay Leno. I got to see them in concert last year the day before my birthday.

You can check out some of their videos on their site:
    http://matchboxtwenty.com/videos/

"Bright Lights" is taken from one of their concerts. "Push" and "Bent" are also good songs.
