Well you might find it very hard to find a rotoscoper around these er' parts dude. [face_not_talking]

    As for a camera..

You can pick up an excellent digital camera for next to nothing now-a-days.

I suggest checking out ebay for that post Christmas bargin.

Any further news on this project by the way?

well its coming together well now. still need a camera, but apart from that.

so far we had a few practices for the choreography, and i almost had a tooth punched out when vader got to excited, lol.

this should be filmed by the end of january.

    EDIT: The spelling mistakes.

Problem is, most convincing footage is filmed with a Canon GL camera, and that you cannot pick up for next to nothing.

    I refute that remark.

@ Rhys: If you would, i would be very greatful if you could help with rotoscoping the duel. totally up to you ofcourse. It would be great if you could.

It depends on time constraints and that, so it'd depend when you got it finished and that. But drop me a line when you get it done.

I know what your saying with the camera thing, but this is just a small fanfilm and I don't really think that there is any reason why a £100 digital camera cannot be used. I mean, it's not like it's going to be shown in a cinema or on TV.

As long as the camera is functional, it should provide a picture more than good enough for what he needs it for.

Yeh, that's true. But, my point is that a lot of fanfilms are pretty high in standard. And a camera features pretty highly. I mean, it's possible that you could have some -really- good ideas, and pull off some really good stuff behind and infront of a camera, but to a lot of people if it doesn't -look- (in image quality or the like) like something professional, then it loses a lot of credability for me. And then quality post-production work can be lost because of the failings of a bad camera.

Of course, if it's your first fanfilm and you're not looking to do anything amazing, and more looking to have fun and just get some experience, then this isn't really relevant.

Only joking. Welcome to the forum.

So tell us a bit about yourself? Where you come from, age, interests, etc.

    My views are thus:

The "Star Wars" logo comes in to slowly and then dissapears too quickly. Just a slight rejigging needed to fix that though.

And maybe extend the scroll a little, give the story a bit more background and detail.

Well we've had plans for plenty down the years, but no fanfilm has ever been completed just as a Welsh Forum project. Though having said that I did make a complete SW themed movie a few years back with Darth_Gavinus, but he wasn't a memeber of this forum at that time, so I don't know if It counts?

Then there's my in/famous lightsaber test movie. A movie so controversial it has yet to be rotoscoped....

But if you get this done and dusted, I suppose it would be the first proper Wretched Hive fanfilm.

Good luck guys. If there is anyting I can do to help, just let me know.

M'kay, hope you dont mind if I be to critical here. ;)

You got the Star Wars logo right sort of, its meant to be huge to start off with and then slowly get smaller, you got that good but it just goes to quickly.

The text is good (I didnt bother reading it) but the angle isnt tilted enough again it goes away to quickly.

Quick thing, that video should no way be 60MB for a 1 min file for the pixels size of the screen your working with learn to compress better, I just did a quick compression on it and got it down to 20MB on the first try.
