Welcome, welcome fine sirs and madams to the June edition of the New Stories Index for the Before the Saga Board:

This Index will be updated daily with new fan fiction stories from this board, and at the end of the month all of these stories will be combined to make a master list, along with fics from both the Beyond the Saga and The Saga Boards.

I will be maintaining this Index. If you have any questions, please feel free to send me a Private Message. While I will be locating new stories everyday, you?re welcome to send me the information for your fic via PM.

Their defeat at the hands of renegade Jedi Master Corrine Corth and her followers ushered in a period of unprecedented peace and prosperity, but in the intervening years the Jedi Order has withdrawn even further from the galaxy. Their customs, their very existence, have become mythology to most of its inhabitants, and good riddance to those who recall the Jedi Senators and the Social Wars. In what many are calling a Golden Age of the Republic, they are unneeded anachronisms, guardians of a galaxy already safe. But in the far reaches of the Outlier Rim Territories a new force is gathering, one forged in injustice and oppression that threatens to shake the Republic to its foundation...
Notes: The Green Hand Rebellion is the first book of a planned trilogy entitled The Republic. It's set approximately 10,000 years prior to The Phantom Menace and will feature a wholly original cast and story. It will be broken down into chapters, one post each, meaning that updates will often be several days to a week in coming, though I hope to keep gaps from running longer. This will be a long one and because I intend to pace it as a novel, not every chapter will be filled with excitement, adventure and really wild things. But I do hope you bear with me because, from what I've worked out so far (the rough details to the end of the second book and the overall storyline of the third), I think you'll enjoy it well enough to be worth the added bulk. I hope so, anyway.
[b]Notes:[/b] There will be a lot of attention paid in these three books to the politics, economics and customs of the Old Republic, and also to the technological developments commonplace by the time of the original trilogy. But this is primarily action/adventure, and as such don't expect the Jedi to be MIA for long. At the same time, if all you look for in a Star Wars story is lightsaber duels and force mages, you'd be wise to look elsewhere. They will be present, especially in the second and third books, and a central focus, but not the only one. I was always more of a fan of Han Solo than Luke Skywalker.

I took the basic idea of Granta and morphed him into what I wanted. And this is what came to be. Its AU, half because Xan is alive, and Granta is older then the books say.

It contains mostly original characters, a few I pulled from various history readings I researched that seemed would work in this story. I'm Posting a short beginning to get the story started. Summary: The prequel series to Angels of the Queen, this series will have exciting events where the handmaidens are caught right in the middle, and will have many interesting episodes. It starts from the time they are chosen to be the handmaidens, to the time of when the original fic is, about a week before TPM. I worked hard on capturing what I thought their personality will be, and many people seem to enjoy the original fic still in progress.
Notes: Some of you probably recognized this title, for it's also on the Saga board, except that one is about a week or so before TPM, and then the events that happen in TPM. Angels of the Queen revolves around the Queen and her handmaidens. I was able to get some ideas from websites, for example, such as the Royal Handmaiden Society that I must thank Anyways, this is going to be a series of "Episodes" in which we get to the handmaidens between the time Amidala is elected, to when the other fan fic starts.
