Wait. Mark Hamil does Voice Overs? Where was he for the Jedi Knight and Rogue Squadron series? Did Factor 5 and Raven just cheap out and say "Hey that bum on the street would do a decent Luke, and we can pay him in Vodka." ?

He did live-action for one of the Wing Commander games, didn't he? The one with Gimli and the guy from Clockwork Orange.

Plus, I remember him doing the voice of the Joker in just about every Batman cartoon ever made, and the voice of Wolverine in Wolverine's Revenge.

Plus, he did the voice of Luke in the Vector Prime commercial back in 99.

Hamill also likes Star Wars. Out of the big 3 he's probably the most proud of his involvement with it (if interviews are any indication).

He was Blair in Wing Commander III,IV and V.

But I really enjoyed his work as Ripburger in Full Throttle...sounded very different :)

If they could get Billy Dee for Jedi Outcast, surely they could have had Hamill do Luke.

The YJK series would've been perfect as an anime or something along those lines. I heard that in 1995, Fox was gonna make a YJK animated series, but it fell through. *Sigh* That would've rocked.

I'd like an animated series that focuses on the NJO and stuff. Not sure about a proper fim though, seems very impossible.

Damn Ford, stuck up bum is no fun [face_plain]

If they ever had to make a series out of the EU, YJK would be best. And if it had to be animated (Why should it? I mean Young Indy was awesome!) then I hope it would be given to capable hands. Not someone who would cause canon debates about overpowered Jedi.

Yeah, just give the YJK to the Sci-Fi channel or the people who did the current DC animated omniverse. That would kick copious amounts of butt!

I would LOVE to see them tackle the post-ROTJ EU! As for voice talent. I'm sure Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels would be willing to do it. And Hamill does dead-on Ford and Guiness impressions!

Fox actually considered a YJK animated series? Is there info on this available anywhere?

Why do we want them to do material we already know about? Why not something brand new?

I've read several threads here that Fox did consider it, but that's all I've got.

Oh, yeah. After the current season of JLU, especially. Kick-ass.

    EDIT:

Link to interview. Such a grossly missed opportunity. *Shakes head* We might've gotten YJK action figures out of that.

It would be best if the original actors took the partso f Han, Leia, and Luke. No one else can do it. And they are the right age.

I could see Mark Hamil doing a return as a live action Jedi Master Luke in some NJO/post NJO live action. Carrie Fisher has aged really bad, though. Not at all what I imagine of Leia. Maybe post Vong war. [face_laugh] Billy Dee, Colt 45 hasn't fared so well, either, in comparison to the development of Lando.

I like the idea of the official EU done as cartoons and the occassional game with the voice of Hamil, etc. Harrison Ford isn't needed for that. Billy Dee Williams has already done video games.

I'd really like an X-wing sequel doing the Vong war. Mark Hamil doing some live cut-scenes, game dialogue, etc ala Wing Commander. ;)

Lucas also said that he consider the possibility of allowing the creation of a NJO series if the first two series are successful. I'm of the opinion that a NJO series would probably be best done CGI-animated, rather than live action. You can be a lot more imaginative with CGI than with solid materials.

As far as who might be interested in getting involved with a NJO show...possibly they'd be able to get Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, and Anthony Daniels, but I'm not sure about any of the other stars from the movies.

In that case, we must do out duty to make sure the first ones are successful! :D

Yes, Mark Hamill has done Joker for ALL of the DCAU since Batman: TAS. From Batman: TAS to Superman: TAS, Justice League, and Batman Beyond. He even did the Joker voice over for the short lived Birds of Prey live action show (first ep).

If there's anyone I'd love to see do an animated SW show, it would be those who do the DCAU. Not only do they produce great work, but they have the $$ for serious voice talent. Just some who've appeared on DCAU shows:

1.) Mark Hamill (Joker, need I say more?)
2.) Michael Dorn (Steel and Kalabak)
    3.) Malcom McDowell (Metallo)
4.) Melissa Joan Hart (Dee Dee)
5.) Dean Stockwell (Tim Drake, adult)
    6.) Will Friedle (Terry McGinnis)
    7.) Gilbert Gottfried (Mxyzptlk) (spelling?)

I think that speaks for itself. I would love a good animated SW show, either new material or based on the books or comics is fine. A Thrawn trilogy or NJO would be great stepping stones, then maybe lead into new material. Doing a mix of established and new can be a nice balance. the DCAU seems to do fine with that.

When I see it, I will believe it. Becuase, GL has not allowed anything done on television that is before Episode 1 and after Episode 6. The two Eowk movies, the Ewok/Droids cartoons, Clone Wars cartoons + the new ones coming out, and the new live action tv series.

I know what GL said at the Celebration convention, plus his kiss-butt director RM. And you know what, everyone can say anything its just like an opinion. Everyone has one and they all stink. Once I read that an official production is going on either animation of live action in an era that is before the movies or after, then I will believe it.

I still remeber when everyone said that one of these star wars prequel movies was going to be the second movie behind Titanic to cross the billion dollar marker. Guess what, were still waiting. The only licensses to have had an opportunity to do something in any era are the novels, comic books, and video games.

If there were a TV series it would have to be totally awesome with no cheezy computer graphics. There is too much HORRIBLE Science Fiction on the SciFi channel as it is...and with good computer graphics comes alot of time....so season one would ahve to be filmed, like 3 years ahead of time. I mean obviously I'm not actually speculating the possibility of a series because its more than obvious that won't happen. Im just SAYING.

If there would be a NJO television series, I advocate that we´d start the counter "Anakin Solo dies" lobbying already at the start of the series, rather than after the fact. :p

For an animated series I would love to see it as an anime type than any other kind, specially if its for the NJO, since there are a lot of anime that shows how good the producers of anime are in that kind of story and I think it would be faster and cheaper to do than a live action or CGI animations.
