Mini Series Official “The Acolyte” Series Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

Wonder if this series will include a proto-Inquisitorius system for acolytes.

 

With Mando season 4 maybe or maybe not being turned into a film I do feel like they are pivoting. Which I think is good. I think Mando only had one more season in it anyway.

where’s the high republic especially the point in which the acolyte takes place has little to no content. The closest thing that takes place to it in canon is an e-novel written in Chinese.

Wait actual correcting my statement. Dooku: Jedi Lost is the closest material to the timeline where acolyte is. Still like 50 years removed from it though.

 

The Acolyte should be 132 BBY, right? I've seen it referenced as "100 years before Star Wars" but also "100 years before Phantom Menace" and I assume the 100 years before TPM is what they mean in all cases. Especially since the High Republic numbers are 382 & 232 BBY, making nice round numbers of 200 and 350 before TPM in 32 BBY. And then the flashbacks in Dooku Lost are approximately 92 BBY.

 

Yep. Flashbacks are when Dooku is like 10-14ish. At least the younger flashbacks.

still like 40 years between that and the Acolyte.

 

This show is 30 years before the Birth of Count Dooku and 50 years before Birth of Sheev Palpatine. The only reconisable faces would be some Jedi High Council members who are long lived like Yoda and Yaddle. And some characters from High Republic books. And the appearance of a reconisable Sith to legends fans, be it Plagueis or Tenebrous.

 

Yep. Most of the information out there suggests that it’s set around 100 years before TPM.

 

What are the chances we see a Member of the Valorum family in this show as a nod to TPM. A senator or Chancellor. We could see a more friendly relationship between government and religion.

Regarding the topic of politics - if this series will include Rim Faction vs Core Faction infighting in the Senate, that will be probably the most prominent usage of the EU lore in live-action series so far.

 

This is literally all I want out of this show. I'm willing to roll with whatever else they throw at us as long as they respect these 2 Legends characters.

Don't care. Seeing them canonized in live action will be enough (I don't think you understand just how much I love the Plagueis novel, lol).

Although I would expect at least 1 Sith to be a recurring presence in the show, given the premise, so I don't think we can rule out an extended role.

 

Also possible. The family was an elite political family akin to the Kennedy’s and Bush’s having multiple Supreme Chancellors over the centuries.

 

I remember a Valorum Chancellor in legends that was around when the Sith treath ended and rule of two began. I wonder if they still are around ,if one from TPM was the last one, i somehow doubt it. Could we see a Palpatine if visit Naboo? I wonder what the political system is in regards to cooperations like Trade Federation?

 

Hopefully this hasn’t been posted already. Apparently Leslye Headland was a guest on the Blank Check podcast last October, where she mentioned having some of the younger Acolyte cast members watch Fight Club for character inspiration.
