I gotta be honest; the fact that the strikes have been resolved and there's no word official or otherwise when filming will resume has me a little nervous, especially with so little left to go. I hope they're not thinking about pulling a Willow and cancelling S2 for a tax write off because S1 didn't pull grandiose numbers.

Filming resumed a couple months ago. It's just looking very likely that season 2 will be a 2025 release instead of August 2024 as originally projected.

You would imagine if this was a 2024 release, they'd be milking it for all its rightly worth and not hide it / leave it off press releases.

season one was 12 episodes, quite long compared to the other streaming shows

I'm not an expert in these things but I assume a 12 episode show takes a bit longer than a 5 or 6 episode show, even if all the filming was completed I still assume post production takes a bit longer

especially given the writers and actors strike

Do you have a source for this? As far as I know, there have been no reports of filming resuming after the strikes.
Obviously the amount of episodes plays a part in how long post will take, but there's also the fact that Andor, unlike the other shows, uses the Volume much more sparingly, so more of the VFX has to be added in post. One of the benefits of The Volume is that it allows them to create the VFX beforehand and capture it in-camera, cutting down on the amount of time needed after the shoot.

Hmm I thought I saw something on this back in November with a spy photo of a familiar character, but it's possible it was taken pre-strikes.

Why? It’s not coming out for awhile so what would they have to say?

I'm thinking Spring/Summer 2025 for S2 now. This year we have Skeleton Crew and the Acolyte and The Bad Batch S3 (am i correct?)
    Ahsoka S2 will be late 2025/early 2026???

If season 2 is even half as good as season 1 I will be a happy man!

Season 1, 2 ([face_praying]) and RO...? Now there is a trilogy!

Those look great, real DVD work.
Sure would be good if Disney still sold physical media in my nation. But alas.

The Astralnauts music video for Book of Boba Fett made me like the show.

edit: Auralnauts. I’ve been playing too much Control.

Just preordered both the Andor and Obi-Wan Kenobi blu-rays.
Glad to see that there wasn't a long time of uncertainty about a European release this time around, even though there's no set release date here yet.

So now we play the waiting game.

So, I’ve avoided this thread, because my first watch through of Andor…I wasn’t impressed. And I’m a firm believer in not being someone to come into threads just to poo poo something. Everyone has their own tastes, and I just thought the show wasn’t for me.

But I decided to give it another go. I don’t know what drove it. Maybe it’s because I’m in a bit of a show hole, maybe I wanted to put my Disney+ to more use, I don’t know.

I’m really glad I did. While I won’t engage in hyperbole and call it the best Star Wars content ever, that is a damn good show. I appreciated the character driven moments more, and still found the prison episodes as the most fun and, in the end, inspiring.

I can only assume that at release it wasn’t the Star Wars show I felt I needed or was ready for (God knows around that time I was dealing with some pretty bad depression), but I’m pleased to say that I’m now a fan. Bring on season 2!

Pre-ordered the Andor set, all £50 of it. The Kenobi one is £45. I feel light headed.
