Got word from Shawn that they were packing her up in LA today. They did a great job prepping her for the FIDM show and kudos to them for all that they've done!

    Hey guys-

I'm sad (but glad for you) that the X-Wing is on her way home- Once again, it was our pleasure hosting. I can't believe we had her for 3 events and 7 months! The fashion students at FIDM are sad to see her go as well, and they are instinctively walking around the area where the ship was instead of crossing the open area.

Good luck with the Thursday delivery! We made sure everything was secure for the trip, and I have a list of pre-existing damage from when she left FIDM- let me know if something looks banged up. Oh- we left you guys a little note in the landing skid- you'll know it when you see it. :)

I tried to match Katie and Mike's names as closely as possiblre to the other fallen. They look weatheres, but still a bit new- you'll have to fix that.

Your rehab is coming just in time, especially for R2. He is in some serious need of repair, but I kept him working until the very end. If there is anything I can do to help you guys from here, let me know- "If any of my circuits or gears will help..."

Any upcoming events for the ship? Or do you just need to get 'er ready for C4 in 2007?

As an aside, FIDM was trying to replace the X-Wing with the Batmobile from the latest film, but Warner Bros. was afraid it would get dirty sitting there... wimps! The ended up with rickshaws from "Memoirs of a Geisha" instead. The FIDM guys REALLY miss the ship...

We were just thrilled that the old girl was in such capable hands while in your fair city... Thanks for everything you and your crew did for her while she was there. From all reports, you guys did a fantastic job [face_love] [:D]

Ditto, buddy! Your LA crew did an awesome job and hopefully (if all goes to plan) she'll be coming back out to see you in about a year or so. ;)

We can't thank you enough for the hard work and dedication to this ultimate thank-you to the fans. And I'm really glad to see the autograph idea wasn't so bad after all (and thanks to you & Uncle George, it will NEVER be painted over).

We have a lot of work ahead of us & some really cool things planned for her. I'll keep you informed. ;)

Please keep in mind during the cleaning that you are only to dust the autograph side (use NO cleaners or solvents as it will remove the ink).

Otherwise, general purpose spray cleaners would be cool, as would a vaccum and a box of shop rags.

We used swiffer dusters last time and they do a great job, but the toss-away cotton mop pads (like the clorox vinyl flooring ones) are awesome (but do not use the liquid).

We'll also be scanning and noting all damage that will need to be repaired.
