Edmonton Official Games Night Mondays Thread

I'm sure you can tell that I'm excited to meet you all also.

As far as being a veteran, I know the game quite well, but I'm sure you people will know the EU a lot better than me. I haven't been able to get my hands on too many of the novels.

I'll bring what books I have for Monday. It is always a good idea to look at the various prestige classes before you make a character. It's handy for some to be able to plan early on what feats and skills to take so that you can qualify for the prestige class as early as possible.

Well my adventure can wait, there is no rush to do it, I can easily adapt it to whatever we are doing... if you guys want to get started on characters on Monday, that is cool with lil ole me...

um, i accidentally photocopied the droid character sheet. So i only have one copy of the character sheet.
Also i was wondering if it'd be okay if one of my characters (depending on the era we choose) can have a droid...

 

I don't know... I guess if you have the credits, you can have a droid... they aren't cheap ya know...

Another interesting twist is that your character can BE a droid. There are many stories about "rogue" droids. Any option is available, and the opportunities are endless...

As for the character sheets, if you have a printer, you can download and print the newest updated character sheet from Wizards of the Coast. Let's see if I can find it...

Edit: Just so you know, I'll probably want to get you guys to make new level one characters. Although the era that we decided earlier (through the poll) came up as "Rebellion Era", it is still open to debate. If we choose to go with the Rebellion Era, we still have to decide when in the Rebellion Era to start.

Sounds good to me. As soon as i have the credits i'm buying that droid. It's pretty sweet (a modified interragator droid)

My philosophy as GM is to make stories for the players. Monday night will not just be for making characters, but for gathering info on what type of stories you guys want to be a part of. If you have your heart set on getting a droid, I'll make sure you end up with one. If you have your heart set on a Star Destroyer...well, that would be a bit more difficult.

I've been known to allow the starship-crazy player (the one that puts his or her abilities into piloting spacecraft) to design the party's space transport.

Well last night was a lot of fun, Troy (Tohrgan_Fex) FINALLY made it to a games night!!! We got started on some characters, and made good progress, I think we are all pretty much done with them. Don't worry for those of you who didn't make it last night, it isn't as daunting a task as it may seem. I am sure either Danny or myself will be able to walk you through it before next monday.

I'm glad to finally meet most of you! We should have closer to a full party next Monday, right?

A couple (I don't want to mention any names...Mindy...John) still have to decide on skills. Make sure that you have one feat of your own choice (not counting "starting feats" from of your class), as well as another "free" feat if you are human.

Everything should be in order. It's a bit more complicated than the Invasion of Theed (as I'm sure you guys have noticed), but all the basics were there. It's pretty easy once you get into it.

I'm excited to start. The game will take place a few months before the Battle of Yavin (that's what people wanted, right?), and should span the entire classic trilogy. Everyone is starting out at level one.

So far we have a female Twi'lek Tech Specialist (who has held a job as a computer programmer), a male Chiss Scoundrel (with a secret past), a male Human Soldier (with an affinity for droids), and a male Cerean Noble (who aspires to be a Jedi).

I want everyone to start on the peaceful planet of Chandrila...each individual can come up with the reason why on their own, if they want.

Any questions before Monday? Fire away.

...within reason, of course. I'm hoping that you all came away with the idea that I'm pretty flexible. One thing I like people to do is give me something that they don't know about their character...or at least some sort of twist that I can use to draw the character more personally into the story.

Last Monday was pretty sweet We all got to make our Characters for the REAL RPG which we will be starting on Monday (I hope )

So now that Edmontooine is getting into the real RPG, Indy and i have talked about it, and we are going to have a set time at which the RPG starts every Monday. This way people like Tavia can come and try to make it at that time, missing all the games of Epic Duels that she so hates but still being in the RPG.

So from now on, the RPG goes from 7:00-Close every Monday

All others that missed Monday (Tavia, Terry, Alex, and the rest) are encouraged to make characters and jump in. Before Monday, try to think of the kind of character that you want to make so we can put him/her on a character sheet before we start. Troy (Tohrgan_Fex) can set you up pretty fast im sure.

TROUBLE!

It seems I have to work Monday night now.

This is really bad. In fact, that will be my first night working. Does anyone know of a better job opening than grocery? I worked grocery during college, and just transfered up here.

Man, I wish games' night was on weekends.

Well, just tell them that you need Mondays off for religious reasons. Or that you have a sick dying second cousin and you need to go visiting on Mondays. Or that your taking a night class on Mondays.

Because StarWars is kind of a religion (to some of us). And I could be your second cousin whos going to die some day right? And you teaching us the RPG is sort of a class right? So any of these are usable, and your not even lying

Actually, I'm looking for a different job, and I'll try to stipulate no Monday nights.

Is everyone busy this weekend? Saturday...even during the day?
