And Ahsoka's quadruple decapitation of the Mandalorians. And lots of other things. I think Maul killing Satine was pretty brutal.

With the talk of possible live action shows on the board, I thought I'd throw this out there... Who would be your pick to do major (or minor) characters from TCW and/or the EU if they were to appear in a live action show or movie?

I've thrown together a list of characters off the top of my head, but it is by no means exhaustive, it's just those who come to my mind initially, so add others if you want, naturally:

    Ahsoka Tano
    Arden Lyn
    Ars Dangor
    Asajj Ventress
    Bastila Shan
    Bevel Lemelisk
    Cad Bane
    Cade Skywalker
    Canderous Ordo/Mandalore the Preserver
    Carnor Jax
    Darth Bane
    Darth Krayt
    Darth Malak
    Darth Malgus
    Darth Plagueis
    Dash Rendar
    Demetrius Zaarin
    Exar Kun
    Freedon Nadd
    Galen Marek/Starkiller
    Gilad Pellaeon
    Guri
    Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus
    Jaina Solo
    Juno Eclipse
    Kir Kanos
    Kuat of Kuat
    Kyle Katarn
    Ludo Kressh
    Lux Bonteri
    Mandalore the Indomitable
    Mandalore the Ultimate
    Mara Jade
    Naga Sadow
    Natasi Daala
    Nom Anor
    Pre Vizsla
    Revan
    Satele Shan
    Satine Kryze
    Savage Opress
    Saw Gerrera
    Shae Vizla
    Steela Gerrera
    General Tandin
    Tor Vizsla
    Thrawn
    Ulic Qel-Droma
    Xizor
    Ysanne Isard

That's about all I can think of now but like I said not exhaustive. It occurs to me that not everyone might be familiar with every character either, but that's ok too, just go with what you know.

So who would be your favored portrayists? Who would you have in mind for the parts?

I noticed recently that Kristen Bell has a striking resemblance to Ahsoka, in voice and face.

Barbara Goodson IS Mother Talzin. How many fans would sell their soul to see her perform in some sort of live action gig?

    Oh, that's an easy one.

No doubt about it, this would be the most popular show in the history of Disney XD.

As I subscribe to the notion that Skywalker's aren't gingers(!), I'd cast any talented young actor, roughly with the look of Liam Hemsworth, in the role of Ben Skywalker.

I'm glad to hear ABC is considering this. I've been wanting a Star Wars live-action show for such a long time. Maybe we'll finally get to see that long awaited series set in the dark times.

One of the episodes was named... "Massacre". Brutally blunt and unambiguous. Everyone knows what a massacre is. Hell the news is full of the "Cairo Massacre" just today. A few months back it was the Batman massacre, or the Sandy Hook massacre. A couple years ago it was the massacre in Norway. Massacres are depressingly common in the world. Do kids watch the news? Kinda hard to avoid it totally if it's on the TV during the day and they're around. Any of them over a few years old probably know exactly what a "Massacre" is.

And said episode depicted, well... a massacre.

It also depicted zombies, voodoo torture and such like, FWIW.

A great and rather bold show would be one told from a fly on wall POV of a regular John Smith civilian of the Sith Empire (pre 1,000 BBY) as the Republic went on the offensive and slowly pushed the SE back.

The guy's a 9-5 factory worker on a minor agri/industrial world, with a wife and a couple of kids. Just one of the quadrillions of regular people who were born, lived and died under the rule of the Darths during the height of the SE.

But the Republic is coming... Nervousness runs through the community. The news media they have access to is heavily loaded with propaganda about the atrocities of the Republic, atrocities of the Jedi, and the valiant struggle of their Sith Lord leaders and protectors and the heroism of the Sith army and navy. We the audience see it as propaganda. But the people in story believe it to be the truth.

Eventually, our protagonist ends up enlisting in a local defense regiment, to fight against the Republic when they eventually reach the place. Not because of the merits of any light side vs dark side, Jedi vs Sith, Force malarkey. All of that is pretty meaningless to him, to most of the civilians. But because, well... "Fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives and your houses". The same reason men everywhere have taken up arms against invading forces since time immemorial, regardless of which of the two warring regimes was the more just.

It would end tragically and make the Republic and Jedi look absolutely horrible in the process, but illustrate the horror of war, and the fact that regardless of which side is "good" or "evil" there are innocents on both sides, and horrible things done by both sides in the course of fighting the war.

As others have pointed out the TCW may have been one of CN's bolder programs in terms of themes and violence, but, it has never gotten close to TV-MA. In my opinion the highest that the TCW and Star Wars franchise in general (excluding any EU related stuff whose content level may vary depending on the target audience) has ever reached in terms of content would be like a low end PG-13 (read: Harry Potter level PG-13 rather than The Dark Knight level PG-13) level.

Besides, even if I could picture a TV-MA Star Wars show, which, once again I can't, we won't see a TV-MA program on prime-time network television.

Oh.My.God... I would absolutely love to see that type of show. That idea sounds completely and utterly awesome. ^:)^

I can't speak for LST, of course, but you may have noticed that there are a few folks here who are desperate to get Moretz into SW - any character, any way, shape or form, whatever it takes. Personally, I don't get it. From what I've seen, chops-wise, she's a mid-level talent, and there's nothing about her look that says anything other than standard Hollywood fare. [face_dunno]

I almost forgot, Robin wishes he were her. That must be it. :D

I don't even know who she is, and if she's on one of those Disney bubble-gum tween shows, I don't want to.

I had to google Zac Efron when someone mentioned him in the ST forum and...just no. I demand that the main hottie not be young enough to be my son. That is all.

    Horrible.

Though this time, I'm not commenting on Chloe's talents, per se, but the content of the scene. Nothing like watching a child slaughter a bunch of people, including a woman who was running for life, while using the word "gay" in a negative connotation. Yeah, great stuff.

As far as Moretz, herself, most of the scene was all flash, no substance. What little she was given to work with consisted of flat, cliché one-liners. I'm not saying that the work of an eleven year old kid translates to what she's able to pull off these days (though again, even her recent work does little to impress me), but I don't see how anything from a scene like this makes folks think she's a natural fit for Star Wars, of all things.

Yeah, we don't need an hour and a half of nothing but people beating the **** out of each other a la Man of Steel, and if the movie contains a single homophobic comment, I will walk out of the theater and send Disney one of the nastiest letters they will ever receive.

That scene is taken way out of context. The whole point is, the lead protagonist (Kick-Ass) is at first glad that she rescues him, but then terrified at the carnage that ensues. And the whole thing is, her dad is insane, and has raised her to be a vigilante. The "gay" thing and her lack of sensitivity to the incessant violence is a demonstration of her immaturity and bizarre parentage at the time. In the second film, she actually beats people up for being homophobic. However, oddly enough, the second film is otherwise awful and completely tasteless.

My comments were predicated on that scene being presented as an example of where Chloe/Hit-Girl's fans are "coming from," so I appreciate that you've taken the time to fill in the picture some for us (and my thanks goes out to Valkryus, too).

It's usually Chloe's work as Hit-Girl that folks cite when they make their case for she having a role in Episode VII, and even considering the added context you've provided, I stand by my assertion that there's nothing which shows me why some people are so adamant that Moretz is a perfect fit for Star Wars.
