Saw a video of the kids saying that Ahsoka was shooting at the same time as them and the sets where adjacent and that Rosario would often come on their set to see what they were shooting and talk to them all dressed up with the Ahsoka make up and they were stoked I like it! The Wim actor was saying he loves Ahsoka and Grogu :)
So does the fact that they shoot at the same time and the sets w ree wedjacent mean that we may
see someone from Ahsoka in Skeleton Crew? Like maybe Ezra?

I hope not. They should let this series stand on its own without referencing any of the lesser SW shows.

Oh shoot. Yeah. Old, Republic credits, not Old Republic credits. And yes, I think the people on At Attin completely missed the entire Imperial era and galactic civil war.

I'll echo a lot of the reactions here and say that I really dug the first two episodes. It's captured the spirit of it's inspirations and I'm excited to see the rest.

The general muted and relatively levelheaded response of everyone to Skeleton Crew reiterates what a nightmare The Acolyte discourse was

You have “Haha blue elephant kid! Wolfman pirate? Neat!” or “wow, this kiddie! Not for me!!”

Vs. The Acolyte “Yord is SO SEXY! #YORDHORD! If you dislike this show you are a NAZI!” or “wow, black lesbian space witches? WTF Disney? I’m literally going to blow up an orphanage because they messed up Ki-Adi-Mundi’s birthday!”

I really really really enjoyed the first two episodes. The kids are so charming and amazing. The setting is so much fun. Loved the suburb setting and the pirate port. I really cant wait for the next episodes. Jude Law is soooo promising.

The credits were found on the ship right? So we have a really old ship, really old Republic credits, and a planet with people who may have missed the entire last half century of wars -- at the very least -- because they were cut off and hidden due to the planets atmosphere.

The kids know about hyperspace. They know a galaxy is out there. They're just missing out on it and are regimented by droids all day long.

Wookiepedia says this about the "Great works"

The Great Works were a group of projects undertaken by the Galactic Republic under Supreme Chancellor Lina Soh during the High Republic Era. The Starlight Beacon, a massive space station constructed on the frontier of the galaxy, was one of Soh's Great Works. Other Great Works that Soh had planned included the Republic Fair, construction of communications relays throughout the galaxy, the negotiation of a treaty between the Quarren and Mon Calamari, cracking the code on bacta cultivation, and other technological innovations.[1]

People think this show tied in with Palpatine's return and the FO. I wonder if it really tied into the Acolyte and that era. This show was planned and made before Acolyte S2 got canceled.

The credits are the monetary units used on At Attin. Wim’s dad gave them to him to pay for his lunches for the week…… so not worth very much on At Attin either.

Ah ok. Still. Same issue at hand. At Attin is a time capsule from the High Republic/PT era, where everyone is working on some great project, that probably terminated a century ago. They've missed the last 150 years of galactic wars and history.

So there's something going on with their planet, it's like a 'Gated Community' , they've hidden themselves, or is it more sinister - like Stepford ?

These people seem to have been here well before the Empire started up, or even Palpatine was around. Everything looks really PT - regal, ornate, modern, art-deco. They've had no communication with the outside galaxy and seem to be following the great work to a tee. Even that classroom droid references something about communications across the galaxy as being important.

Its almost like they're stuck in time because of that barrier. They think the republic great work is still ongoing.

That said, something is definitely up since they're entire life and routines are completely regimented and all personal ambitions are driven out of them so that the - rather mundane - great work proceeds. There's definitely an element of propaganda going on since they all want to be systems analysts and what not. I suspect that Fern, and some higher ups in government know that there is no great work. That they're hiding the truth from all the citizens to keep everyone in line. I mean, its probably been around 150-200 years since they arrived there or started on the Great Work. That's quite a long time to just continue working on a generational project without any feedback from the republic.

Although weird, it hardly seems like the same stuff as the Empire or FO.

Just chiming in here to say that I liked the first two episodes a lot more than I expected to. I'm fully on board with this show now despite my earlier reservations.

Why do people feel there needs to be something nefarious about At Attin? Why not just a planet that many years (decades? centuries?) ago secluded themselves and just chose to never come out?

Because something ain't right. They're being watched by camera droids constantly - it seems. Their entire lives are ordered and everything has to follow protocols. Their little cars can't even escape the rigid tracks.

And what 9 year old dreams of being a systems analyst?

That would definitely be in line with Asimov's Foundation series, where the settlers of the planet Terminus isolated themselves from the rest of the galaxy, ostensibly to compile the Encylopedia Galactica, but in reality to serve as a colony from which civilization could return after the foreseen fall of the venerable Galactic Empire.

I agree but the only thing against that idea is the kids racing their custom-made motorbikes in and out of traffic, and no-one says anything.

I kind of wonder if they're unknowingly ruled by a droid or computer of some kind. Like the original group came that settled there in PT times, came with a protocol droid, and over time he has come to control more the work/life there.

There's also the mystery of what happened to the ship's real captain. He crashed there and - what - blent into the group lol? The city almost looks designed around that restricted forest. Someone might know that ship was there still and didn't want anyone finding it - thus the no one can leave or enter - is broken.

Rules are different for the golden youth.
Which reminded me that in the EU Palpatine started his kill count with traffic accident when he was racing on speeder.

The “great work” also kinda of reminds me of Andor prisoners making Death Star sprockets.

Maybe At Attin was a republic prison planet where criminals are taken, reprogrammed, given new lives with useless jobs but are constantly guarded by droids and protected by the barrier

However the prison doesn’t know that the Republic fell and the descendants keep following orders.

The ship that crashed there was a prison break gone wrong

I dig this idea and also think someone on the planet or something may be aware of that but the population is not
    Also a great idea!

I think the key is the barrier.
In Mando S3 Mandalore had one , but it was said it was a result/side efect of the Empire bombing on the planet ( remember many in the GFFA the planet itself didn't even exist any longer or was totally unhabitable ).
Here the kids never saw the stars in the sky; once they got into deep space they got amazed on how the stars looked.
On the pirate port people have heard of the planet , but thought it was just a myth, wich was also odd.
So could the barrier created by natural causes ? Honestly doesn't seem right.
Also, could just the pirates heard about the legend ? Also doesn't feel right.
Now, in the PT, Kamino "got lost" because someone just "erased" from the maps ( not just the Jedi but the entire galaxy seemed to forgot about it).
In this case, by the same time, this planet could have been labeled as "legend" and forgot, with the proper propaganda . With the barrier it got lost in the radars.
But the question is who could "make" the barrier ?
Could it be a separatist experiment( would explain the reliance in droids) ?
Or would it be a "plan B" by Palps ?
Anyways the planet/population had an Empire kind of feel, with the "order obssession" thing going on, wich is not something we normally see in both republics age wich adds to the mistery.
