    I love droids so much.

I see. Also since I've noticed there is a few of them in Season 2 alone what did you guys think of the political episodes of the show? I'm not really interested in politics in real life but I found the episodes in the show to be gripping. Senate Murders was a great Padme focused episode.

They did not appear completely phased out during the Galactic Empire, as were used as some sorta Senatorial security replacement for the Senate Guards for Gall Trayvis(a rogue senator but in reality an Imperial agent) who used what appeared to be updated models rather than the more clunky C-3PO style droids of the Clone Wars. But they were just as useless really as the older police droids.

Those droids look a lot like the C-3PO concept art.

Those are droids? I always thought they were humanoid CSF officers.

That's not true. The one on the top is a regular police droid while the Fugitive ones are Coruscant Underworld Police. Whether they are living or droids is unknown.

Yeah, the Coruscant Underworld police are definitely human/humanoid beings. Though it's true that the police droids were phased out during the show, as later seasons seemed to favour using this model over the the older one:

I guess CHIPs police droid > Scotland Yard constable police droid.

Hey, guys. So...after a while. I finally got around to watching the rest of TCW (Disclaimer: As a fan of Dark Horse's work with the license, you can probably take a guess as to why it's taken me this long).

I found myself enjoying a lot of the clone episodes (Domino Squad had the best highlights in the series). I also enjoyed Plo Koon, Assaj Ventress, Obi-Wan (JAT has been the voice of him since Tartakovsky's series gor me. Great voice actor), and several others. I was quite partial to Cad Bane as well.

Here's my issue with this series now that Rebels and Dark Disciple came rolling around. Quinlan Vos and Assaj Ventress are now awful in the official canon. The book backtracked so much of Ventress' character development that I honestly doubt whether Filoni knew he had a good thing in the first place. Dooku is noticably worse in this series. Grievous sucks in TCW as well. Legends version is much better in every conceivable way. I was really liking Anakin until the Mortis Arc. Ahsoka was just...uugh. Guys, I can't. I really can't. Ahsoka will never be a character I like. As for Maul and Oppress, I don't like either. I didn't think it was worth ruining Legends Dooku and Grievous to keep Maul. Especially if it was tied to PACIFIST MANDALORIANS and having all of Open Season literally crapped on.

So, that's my piece. Say I'm biased or whatever but that's what it is.

Dooku and Grievous's portrayal goes back to the films and earlier seasons of TCW thats WAY before Maul and Savage entered the picture on TCW, and they were not always around, and nor were Savage and Maul or even Ventress. Ventress they changed a bit and Vos especially to an extent, but Venress was overall pretty much like she was in the comics, except toned down some and she died. The Ventress/Kenobi flirt/romance stuff never really materialized into anything worthy speaking of on the show except when Ventress allied herself with Kenobi to fight Savage and unknowing she would go up against Darth Maul too. So instead her love life was focused on Vos whose character was underused on TCW and the Ventress and Vos arc was rushed for an arc one shot. I never really cared for Grievous or Dooku they were inferior characters next to Maul for the movies and storyline, and never liked Vos at all so I would've preferred they kept him and Sora Bulq as Dark Siders to be slain by Maul .

The Ventress-Vos arc was not rushed into a one-shot arc. It was originally intended to be 2 acrs separated into 2 seasons, thus spreading the story out.

It's only the show's cancellation that caused it to be converted to book form.

Well, there would've most likely been other episodes in between SOD and the second arc, as the second arc is a Season 8 arc, while SOD is a Season 7 arc. It seems unlikely that this Ventress arc would open the season, considering how much of a finale it is for some of the main concepts of the show. I imagine that this arc was either second or third to last in the Season.

The whole concept of a Ventress/Vos alliance was bad anyway, as was what was done to Ventress' character, so the format is irrelevant to me.

Although I would not have minded seeing that episode in which she punched him after he called her "honey."

I was a big fan of Ventress and how much her character changed over the course of TCW. I absolutely loved the first half of Dark Disciple, and thought the second half was pretty good. It seems like a lot of other people weren't happy with the book though. I didn't think the second half was bad, but it definitely wasn't perfect.

The scenes when she pwned Vos and when Boba Fett was whining about her in the cafe were great.

Her "development" became terrible when she stopped being a sarcastic badass. It was possible to redeem her without her losing that edge; there are sarcastic badass light siders.

Yeah, Ventress definitely devolved into a sort of generic EU Star Wars female lead by the end of Dark Disciple - though that was far from the only thing wrong with the closing acts of that novel.

My personal head-canon is that Ventress is still out there as she was at the end of Season 5 - a for-herself mercenary just looking for a bit of purpose but not interested in fitting the mould of a heroine.

Ventress remains one of my favorite CW characters, and I feel they could have easily continued her story into the EU where it was born. Considering the events on Dathomir after her death, anything is possible when you look at the power of the planet and the Nightsisters. When her body entered and reignited the Water of Life, it may have triggered something that could impact the SW universe down the road. With Talzin's ability to resurrect, its possible something similar could be passed to Ventress.

In a way, am glad she's died and there was a closure to her, otherwise she'd be running around out there somewhere doing nothing and to never appear again like in the EU - which appears what Filoni intends to do with Ahsoka after Malachor where she's in a safe zone(least for the time being) so to speak. Vos could've been interesting I guess but they never utilized the character in a matter to ever care for him and he came across across as another arrogant buffoon on TCW. He was handled much better in the original medium where for all intents and purposes was where he was created, Star Wars: Republic. At least the whole turncoat stuff there was other supporting characters involved that were kinda interesting like Sora Bulq, Durge, Tol Skorr & Kadrian Sey and we got to see some cool action - even against a Terentatek . I am disappointed Maul did not fight a full on Sith Dark Acolyte Vos like in the teaser concept art, I think that was a major mis opportunity.

But I think cartoons geared more to younger children like TCW to a degree and Rebels more so, water down the characters a lot, plus they have to wrap everything up within a certain amount of time and the writers, directors, producers all have different thoughts and ideas going into the characters and storyline.

I liked Ventress's arc in TCW much better than in the micro-series or in the Dark horse comics even if I never considered her as one of my favorite characters. It was clear she became a much more interesting character once Dooku betrayed her, it's coincidentally the moment she stops being just "the villain of the week".

I was just watching the Onderon arc and it's episode commentaries again and it got me thinking. They mention the rebel symbols in this arc being similar to the Rebel Aliiance logo deliberately intentional to give the sense that it is an ongoing story. Now with Rogue One coming out we know Saw from this arc is in it but the commentary(filmed before Disney took over Star Wars) made me think that even before the Disney takeover Lucasfilm was going to do more with the characters in this arc in some way.

Now I may just be rambling on here but do you guys think if Disney hadn't bought Lucasfilm we would have still seen something similar to Rogue One with links to TCW or not?

I'm just going to speculate here but to me I always saw TCW developing into a Rebellion era show and going through ROTS, jumping forward in time into the Pre OT era.

Obviously in my head it was to follow on and characters fates would be resolved and develop- Rex and Order 66, the 501st for example.
The Onderon arc was what I thought a jumping point to develop stuff that could crop up in a TCW 2.0 series. Especially when Saw saw Steela die. I still think Lux will crop up at some point but now probably the Ahsoka novel is the most likely.

Flash forward to now, Rebels isn't what I expected nor is it really as cohesive as TCW was. It follows along with TCW characters but not entirely in a way that doesn't affect the story that should have/is the story they are meant to be telling- the Ghost crew. In my head the TCW 2.0 would have been about the Empire vs the Rebellion with X wings and Tie Fighters.
Before I wouldn't have doubted them pulling it off but now I'm not so sure.
