Full Series Official "The Clone Wars" Series Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

Among the new-era people isn't Filoni pretty much the closest with George of anyone, in terms of consulting on stuff? More TCW than Rebels, but seem to remember him mentioning something to do with George in the latter too.

I doubt George is there in-person micromanaging things, but in terms of Dave & George conversing on the big conceptual stuff, I'd say that's pretty much a given. They seem very tight, and Filoni pretty much seems like the last guy on the Disney team to "not care that much about George's opinion".

 

Speaking of Geoge Lucas, Dee Bradley Baker brought him up in an interview yesterday with the star wars show, at SW celebration. He made it seem like that Filoni has been working closely with Lucas for the new season of the clone wars. Which I thought was strange because we haven't heard much about Lucas in a while.

If this is accurate, I would assume that there's 4 episodes for the Bad Batch arc, 4 for Siege of Mandalore, which leaves 4 for an unidentified storyline. Personally, I hope it's the Boba Fett/bounty hunter arc. Fett has been very absent in the new materials.

 

I've suspected for a while, but my hunch is we aren't getting four episodes per arc any more and so there could be more than three arcs being covered by this final season.

 

Bummer. I suspected from the trailer that one arc was about the Bad Batch just fully animated but I really hoped for 12 episodes of new contents but I guess it make sense because it was nearly complete. Maybe that means the 4 last episodes are about Ahsoka in the underworld since we saw a clip at SWCE.

 

I’m pretty sure it’s been confirmed that it’ll be 4 episodes per arc.

 

No trailer for the Mandalorian. Just a sizzle reel that was only shown to attendees. No biggie, but means we’re unlikely to get any Clone Wars footage since it’s being released after the Mandalorian.

 

What time does The Clone Wars panel start?

I hope the Bad Barch is just a bonus and not counted as the “new” 12 episodes.

I also hope we get to see the CIS Council and an explanation how they fit in with the CIS Senate.

The description on the Celebration page says this about the Clone Wars panel "Live on the Celebration Stage; streamed to the Twin Suns Stage Dave Filoni and special guests celebrate the return of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and share a sneak peek at what’s to come". The panel itself is called Star Wars: THe Clone Wars Sneak Peek which suggests footage of some sort.

Whereas the panel description for the Mandalorian said ""Live on the Celebration Stage; presented simultaneously at the Galaxy and Twin Suns Stages Learn about the perilous world of The Mandalorian, set to debut on Disney +". This gives no indication of any footage being shown whereas The Clone Wars one does.

Not long until we find out.

There actually was a lot of footage shown for the Mandalorian, it's just that none of it was streamed. You can find both a trailer and a couple minutes from the first episode on youtube. Really weird that they didn't stream any of it.

shame that they couldn't just revive the show and adapt all the remaining arcs instead of just 12 ones. Based on past comments this seems to be a one off and adapting Siege of Mandalore also likely ends the series. Could easily have lasted another 2-3 seasons.

seems like a thank you to the savetheclonewars and at the same time trying to get more people to subscribe to Disney+.

hopefully they tell us which arcs they are doing. That they are doing Bad Batch seems somewhat disappointing, would have preferred new arc....

 

This is what I've been waiting for all weekend. It almost doesn't feel real to know that in just an hour we're going to see footage of a new clone wars wars season
