Yeah, no problem with the freezing stuff personally. Sure, it does come off a little wink-wink-nudge-nudge, but whatever, it makes sense in-universe. Boba's not going to be the only guy with a use for conveniently freezing marks until delivery.

 

That, and the influence of "fashion": the instant word got out that Jabba the Hutt had one of his enemies frozen in carbonite and displayed in his audience chamber, how many other gangsters decided they needed to do the same thing?

 

Is it just me, or does it look like

 

Yes, they never said it was the first time anyone had been frozen in ESB, just that the facility was not built for that purpose. There is a Clone Wars episode where the Jedi and clones get frozen in carbonite to avoid detection on an infiltration mission. The precedent is there in canon.

 

Yeah. Post-Jabba Tatooine is a really interesting notion to me, just as much as a post-Empire GFFA as a whole.

6 years out (is that right?) seems more than enough time for some other gangster to make a power-grab. Kinda wondering who the authority is around these parts in the series, whether Herzog's guy wields any real power (kinda seems he doesn't, given he's laying low in the leaked stuff) or if some other criminal like Jabba's moved on in.

 

Really reminds me of FIREFLY.

 

Carbon freezing? it's Montross!

 

I'm wondering whether he actually has that recognition at the start of the series. I'm also wondering whether it's 'his' ship or not. I have no doubt he has all the skills from the off but this really looks like a growth story to me. As much as the base ingredients look fantastic I'm really looking forward to this story peeling away the layers of the 'lone gunman'.

 

Yeah, and carbon freezing people was very common in Legends as well. It was how they did interstellar travel before they had hyperdrive, so I got no problem with bringing it back.

I had the same thought. The ship looks very similar.

 

Just watched the trailer.

What I like most about the trailer was the music. It seriously looks like they're trying something new rather than the same leitmotifs to John William's original score. That tells you something.

Edit: No offense to John Williams of course.

 

The show looks amazing.

Love seeing Giancarlo as an Imperial, loved the row of carbonite freezing, hopefully we can see the Mando take quite a few jobs.

I didnt realize IG was gonna be such a big character, he looks like he is gonna be the Chewie to the Mando's Han. Awesome!

Also love that it seems Mando is gonna be traveling to a lot of different planets/locations.

 

I'm hoping they (somehow) bring back the best bounty hunter in the galaxy before the titular character of this new show...

Boba Fett Cad Bane

 

Now that it's popular that Star Wars death villains revive I wonder if Boba will eventually come back

 

Well, there's certainly Cad Bane.

We don't know what happened to him and that arc where he was presumably dead by the end of it hasn't been adapted yet, so I'm hoping that he comes back.

Maybe he truly was working for the Empire in some role before it got destroyed. Who knows what happened to him. Maybe he decides to go back to bounty hunting after retirement.

I just want mah boi back, dammit...

 

Cad bane would be perfect for this show, as you pirates, gangsters and bounty hunters. Cad bane could really show up in all three shows and as these shows will be more open to the expanded universe then the movies. We could have this duros bounty hunter. Heck Hondo be perfect in this and he's already live action on Galaxy edge.

It could be just you. Or it could be me too. And/ or some other people. Maybe even most people. Likely not everyone.

 

I have no idea who Natalia Tena is but it's good to know who the pink Twi'lek is. So Emily Swallow and Ming Na-Wen's characters are still a mystery.

Threepio has seen some crap, but his explantion of what happen always seemed to indicate that it wasn't a process that was well known.

As to the Boba thing. It might be nothing, hell it is probably nothing. But so many little things add up imo. Tatooine, trying to rebuild some Mando armor, a weapon which is more then a bit of wink at Boba, Bounty Hunter, Carbon Freezing, and IG team up.

If nothing else, the original idea was clearly about Boba.

 

I think the main thing that stood out for me was the theatrical-level quality of the cinematography and f/x.

 

Cad Bane should be saved for Kenobi. He'd be an OAP with a walking stick at this point in time anyway.

To be honest it sounds to me like generic trailer music. Don't get me wrong, I would like something new, but I don't think this will be it.
