SNAP!! Except the home page for 15 years and the curtains are in the bedroom!!!
I don't own anything of Star Wars anymore. Gave most my books and DVDs to a friend before I moved last month. Do my memories count, or is that too cheesy?
That's sad @Ava G. You need to start a new collection. I see lots of cheap SW stuff in Goodwill. I picked up the SW Storybook that I had as a kid for a dollar.
Ahhh... feels cozy.
I too saw the original back in theatres. Ahh the good ole days. I lurked in the forums for several months, before I finally registered.
Still getting used to this new look on the Forums. Miss so many folks who simply faded away.
Yes, yes...so many memories... hehehehe.
I lurk way more now than I did when I first joined. Saw that its been 20 years and I was like, geeeze. Really??? Anyway, logged in to see what is going on. I guess my favorite memory is being in the Game section and drafting video game characters! So draft and games. I should get more involved again!
You guys need to be less of strangers here!

You want to come back to the boards....
I probably saw ANH and ESB 10 times each in theaters. But my personal record was/is Raiders of the Lost Ark. They had a 10am showing for 50 cents in the summer of 81. I must have seen it 20 times. It played there for a year and a half!
I really miss doing that. I only go to the movie theaters today for Star Wars, Bond, and Harry Potter. There aren't too many "second-run" movie places around any more, but at least we have awesome TVs to enjoy.
I used to love escaping to local discount theaters to see ROTJ and later, the prequels. I think TPM ran for more than a year locally. I know it wasn't at all popular among my age group, and that's okay, but I unapologetically loved it. My father, who was one year older than I am today, passed away just before TPM was released. I still don't know why, but the movie brought me so much comfort. I went over and over again and spent loads of time on TheForce.net as well. When I look back now, I don't remember my grief so much, just lots and lots of Star Wars!
I go to the movies for SW, HP, ST and Jurassic stuff, although I did go twice for Ready Player One, loved that one!
The only things that get me in the theater on opening day are SW, Indy, Jurassic Park series, Potter, and LOTR. Oh and King Kong and Godzilla, as I've always loved them. And Superman and Batman.
@Roland of Gilead, come home!
This thread had me written all over it. I'm here. Haven't been around all that much in the last few years, but SW and I are still going strong - just had the "Gone with the Wind" ESB style poster - signed by Carrie & Mark - professionally framed for my 50th birthday last month and is proudly hanging in my all things Star Wars "Galaxy Room".
Indeed it was the "wild West" back then as mentioned by @dolphin. So many SW sites were being shut down right and left with those infamous cease & desist letters. I always wondered how this site ever managed to keep alive and thrive, but it was always the first site/last site I was on during the day and most of the night.
Really cool seeing a lot of names I haven't heard since.... well, you know the scene.
Happy 50th @J Girl!
Old fart checking in...
Ooooooooo... BTW, @A Chorus of Disapproval this is the *REAL* @RolandofGilead
One day The Gunslinger will return!
Remember when these things were called "The Cantina" or that short lived "Jedi Knights Club" or "The official, purely speculative, non social, beard and food theory thread."

Hello to all my fellow oldbies! I have many good memories and made several good friendships over my time here. Glad I made my account when I did, during my prequel frenzy back in early 2001. Happy to have been a part of this place for so long.
Hi @QueenSabe7 ! How's your summer?
Hey, @christophero30 ! My summer has been quite chaotic, but I'm trying to stay ahead of things lol. How about yours? How is the CCC going?
Good. We miss you in there. Come back and say hi sometime.
He's too busy hunting down Akiva Goldsman for ruining his character.
Wow. I joined back in October of 1999, when Bill Clinton was still president. My how times have changed.
18 years today!
Akiva Goldsma has ruined many characters.
When most of us joined the forum it was not long after Batman and Robin.
Does anyone remember if there were sequel trilogy (Episode 7+) speculation threads during the Prequel era?
Happy anniversary, Princess.
