Rew That's just what I was wanting. Thanks!

Any guesses what has the highest likelihood of being collected in an unannounced omnibus before the end of the year? Or maybe a better question is what is most unlikely to be collected (and therefore can be purchased as a TPB relatively safely)?

That's a very good question. Hopefully Randy answers it in the DH forums. What I would like would be the Classic stuff and Jedi vs Sith. Or anything that's out of print, really. Perhaps even something that's never been collected before.

Rew There's also this for your misc. list:

    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Duel_of_the_Fates_(comic)

I'd really like to see them finish omnibussing what they started - pre-2005 comics like Jedi vs. Sith and Honor and Duty, as well as more obscure or uncollected things, and of course the Classic Star Wars/Newspaper strips. I can live with the more recent series being TPBs on my shelf (though maybe they can throw together a Legacy Book 4 hardcover with Legacy Volume II). In fact, personally, I'm also hoping that Dark Horse goes out with style and releases a really classy hardback collection for The Star Wars.

Hedge your bets, TPBs are so far known, to a degree up to August 2014, only the Dark Times 2 Omnibus is amongst those.

Now that can always change, but get what you want in whatever format and don't be too choosy about it.

Ah yes, I forgot about that volume. It looks like everything else in that one has been collected elsewhere except for Walkabout. If they don't collect that this year, I might just go look and see if I can read it online. :p

Exactly. That whole entire big list I just posted? As of Friday's announcement, the entire Star Wars comics line is now, for all intents and purposes, limited edition. One year from now, more than two decades worth of stories and galaxy-building will be out of print. :(

Good find. Apparently both hardcover and paperback collections for The Star Wars are also on Amazon, but the page count on neither adds up to containing all 8 32-page issues (much less the 32-page #0 companion issue). So I don't know what to make of that. All 8/9 issues would be too large for a standard TPB but too small for an Omnibus, so perhaps it'll be its own hardcover collection?

    You're welcome!

I personally am hoping for Wild Space volume 3, something that will include the three remaining '70s/'80s comics (Constancia Affair, etc.), Walkabout, the remaining few Republic issues that couldn't fit anywhere else, and things of that sort. A hardcover for Legacy Volume II containing all 18 issues would be fitting as well, coming on the heels of the 3-book Legacy set.

I asked him on those forums on Friday, but no answer as of yet.

Thanks for the heads-up on that comic, Guy-Gone_Weird, and your thoughts mirror mine on what I hope DHC collects this year.

    Jedi Ben: Good advice.

Yeah, especially since Volume 2 was something of a disappointment regarding rare material.

That list is really helpful! I'n going to wait just a little longer before buying the small trades for any news on upcoming Omnibuses, hopefully we can get the info soon. There are several trade collections I want that seem like they'd be a natural for the Omnibus treatment, such as Invasion and Errant Knight.

Say, I seem to recall someone at Dark Horse (Randy?) mentioning the "Panini comics" would be collected in Wild Space, possibly at Celebration VI? No one seemed to know what they were. Did that ever get clarified, or am I going nuts?

Also I seem to remember Randy clarifying that they had divided up stories into "Wild Space" and "Unknown Regions", the latter of which we haven't seen yet. Maybe that's coming?

I've been debating that one since it was released in 2008. Finally cracked yesterday. You can get it for mid 70s on amazon new.

Still not a great deal, but its a nice book as a collector's volume. Sigh.

    Had a few spare minutes:

Open to editing for anyone who finds stuff I missed, or as things change. I'll put it in my sig so people have an easy time finding in future.

Awesome! I think that Republic 78: Loyalties has never been collected either, or am I missing something there?

The books in Honor and Duty are the only books apart of the Republic series to not be in Omnibus form, right? I'm hoping that Honor and Duty will be collected in a Dark Times 3, also including a hopeful final arc of Dark Times as well as Purge and the Darth Vader series.

Is there a list of comics that aren't specifically collected in Omnibus form? I'm trying to capture all of the Dark Horse books and omnibus is my way to go, except when I need to get things that won't make it into the omnibus collections.

Edit: Woops! Missed page 19.....My god. I can hear the change being chipped away from my bank account.

They should do one enormous Omnibus entitled Everything Else.

My main concern is if comics wrapping up this year won't see TPB at all, given the limited window in which to sell TPBs after the run has wrapped. I would be pretty disappointed.

How long after DH stops publishing, before their material vanishes from comic shops, book stores and online stores?

Well I will guess that within a few months of them stopping publication, things will start to go quicker and quicker as the end publication date approaches. So I'd say....About a month for the large piles of it to be gone. I feel like there will be a trade here, an omnibus there, an issue over here for a LONG time, though.

I would assume that's unlikely. They are allowed to publish until the end of 2014, and presumably that includes December. I doubt they'll be forced to pull everything and pulp it as of January 1. More likely it will be elimination by attrition. With no new printings, things will disappear from shelves fairly quickly. (Several trades are already off shelves around here)

At least that's what I would hope. *shrug*

I'd guess 80% will be gone by next May, and almost all by the end of the year.

I can't remember when the Kindt Solo mini is scheduled but everything else will basically be finished by August. I'm assuming that's so they can do things like print TPBs of those books in the autumn. Wouldn't be surprised if they're limited print runs though if their goal is to sell out.

Great lists, Rew and Hennig. It really is a shame that Dark Horse will likely have to abandon the Omnibus program. For anyone interested, our own jaoblias made a really neat list of hypothetical future omnibi not too long ago, based on the uncollected material.

Rebel Heist runs April-July, plenty of time for a trade.

It's notable Legacy II ends in August, perhaps for this reason - to allow time to get the trade out? Legacy II is something I would definitely not expect an Omnibus for.

    Thanks Jeff.

Actually I was looking for that post. Wanted to credit him as well as I stole some stuff of that list for mine but forgot who made it.

They could theoretically jump right to a Legacy II omnibus (or hardcover to match the first three which I'd prefer) rather than having the third Trade.

That would be breaking tradition, but in this circumstance, I'd argue it was warented.
