This was a tough one, but I had to go with Gladiator because of the vastness of that film. One I can still enjoy every time, too. Schindler's List was a really close second, though.

(sorry Kevin, haven't seen American Beauty ;) )

Had to go for Schindler's List. I enjoyed most of the other movies, but Schindler's List was the only one that struck me as art that i would like buried in a time capsule for future generations to see. It is a beautiful and amazing piece of film.

As for Titanic, I'd like that one to just be buried in an unmarked grave. :)

Stick to the killing robots Mr. Cameron.

Schindler's List is the sure-fire all-time classic from this list.

    Unforgiven was deserving.

Gump was deserving, but I like The Shawshank Redemption better in the long run.

American Beauty was fine, but I think slightly over-rated.

I found Unforgiven overrated, actually. American Beauty deserved the Oscar the most, IMO.

What if you had more than one choice?

    Schindler's List
    Braveheart
    Forrest Gump

Those are the only 3 I'd pick.

Maybe even A Beautiful Mind if I didn't like LOTR better.

Fellowship of the Ring. Oh, that's right...it didn't win, something else did. [face_plain] Well, I'll go for Braveheart. :D

Braveheart and Shakespeare in Love were both good and fun. :)

Schindlers List was a more serious fim, but was too hard for me to finish watching.

I picked Schindler. The writing, acting, and production were amazing. American Beauty is second for its repeat watchability.

Least deserving is Forrest Gump (which I love anyway), since the greatest flick of 1994 was the vastly superior masterpiece Pulp Fiction.

I personally think it's hard to choose anything but Schindler's List. Since so much of it is based our understanding of the past, it can spur more debate in a social context than any movie on this list, yet under our scrutiny, it still remains a powerful and moving film.

Schindler's list I only saw it once but and I forgot it now. But I remember thinking Unforgiven was a really apt name for that movie because it was so unforgiveable.

Least deserving is Titanic, bad acting, bad story, and good special effects.

Of all of them Titanic DID NOT deserve the Best Picture award that year. LA Confidential was the best picture of the year.

Schindler's List. As much as I loved Gladiator and Braveheart, they didn't quite pack the emotional punch Schindler's List had.

Wow. I feel behind the times. I only saw three of those movies. I didn't feel strongly enough about any of them to vote.
