Really I don't mind, but I think that if they're trying to integrate all the components of the site then it should have a consistant look.

And to give people a better idea of what it'd probably look like I went a step further than Dingo and YodaJeff and worked on the stylesheet.

I know a lot of people here feel very strongly against changing the forum look, but maybe that can help people make a more informed decision.

The links above look good. But how different is it really from what we have now besides the colors? We can always change colors here to match that and change some images.

 

Well I might be being naive, but it's too narrow. I don't like the forum not filling the screen. The space either side seems wasted. Is that just a screen resolution thing (the higher, the more space either side), or is that accurate for all screen resolutions?

 

To me, if the boards change to the look of the main page or remain as it is, it's all fine with me. So long as I have a place to post some chit-chat about Star Wars I'm happy. There are real problems in the world. Flip on CNN to hear about the tsunami and its victims to put this board scheme change in perspective.

 

Hang on a minute. This is a thread about the look of the boards. Yes there are greater events taking place in the world, but attempting to make people feel guilty about discussing the look of the boards in a thread about the look of the boards is absolutely ridiculous. There is a place for grand discussion, and a place for relatively trivial discussion (both of which are on the JC)... and just because there is a disaster in SE Asia does not preclude trivial discussion in this thread which is designed for such 'trivial' discussion.

The current board adapts to the user's resolution, always providing a full window viewing of the forum. The new theme would not. Not a huge issue, but definitely not an improvement, so all-in-all not a needed change.
