Hmm, interesting question. Im sure that they'd find some way to call Sarah 'damaged' and blame her family and upbringing, maybe more specifically Nikki and Margie.

I've had the feeling for quite some time that Barb is going to ****-can Bill....

Bill's made his bed(s), now he can lie in them.

    Interesting episode last night

It seems that Barb is trying to get away from polygamy

Ben is trying to embrace it and them, which is kind of freaky

And Sarah has zero respect for her dad, and needs to know what not to share

I am enjoying this season more than the first.

Has this show been picked up for season 3?

Just watched the replay. Another great episode in what has been a steady string of them so far this season. It was sad seeing Barb trying so hard to cling to her Mom and her old life while still trying to do right by her kids and her new family. Fascinating to see all of the different dynamics between Barb, Ben and Sarah.

As far as the finale goes, there are so many different plot threads its hard to predict whats going to happen, although I do think that Alby will be deposed, perhaps fatally. Something tells me that Nikki and Adeline are going to join forces and somehow get Roman back in a position of power, possibly with Bill's support.

The bed of snakes at the end was a nice touch.

It looked to me from the finale preview that Bill might try to claim his birthright as Profit and take out Alby and Roman.

That would be crazy, but appropriate in a way considering Bill's slide into the dark side this season.

I loved the interaction between Ben and Sarah at the wedding. Although they were sitting right next to each other, they were worlds apart.

I enjoyed the finale. The gaming issue was settled although I was surprised to see Alby more firmly in control than ever. Surprised there was nothing at all with Rhonda, and I was even more surprised to see Ana so suddenly back in the mix. It'll be interesting to see what kind of role she may play next season.

I've grown to loathe Margene. I used to find her character cute and funny, but she irritates me now. She's an airheaded clown.

They're setting up a confrontation between Bill and Barb next season with this new woman Bill's been dating...

If Henry Dean Stanton survives to film next season (the guy is 81 years old now), I'm sure his character is going to have it out with Alby Grant.

Also, although I sympathize with Sarah's plight and her willingness to get away from her dad's machinations, she's a dumb ass for getting played like that by her boyfriend. It was all too easy for that dude to lay the pipe down on that.

Yes, a third season is confirmed. Im pretty sure that theyr writing it now in order to begin filming in November.

As far as Sarah goes, I think one reason that she decided to give it up so easily was because she wants to get back at her father, and Ben (to a lesser extent). In a sense she allowed herself to get played, just so she could pretty much tell polygamy to **** off.

i enjoyed the fianle, but thought that the wives were being too loved dovey at the end with each other considering everything that went on in the epi prior to the ending. I loved that Alby had his father arrested in the end too. that was a twist i didn't see coming.

Depite the arrest of Roman this was the brightest ending so far this season, in which there was alot of darkness to it.

I really liked this season. I thought the level of drama and tension approached the Sopranos or Deadwood at times, which is always a good thing; and it's a smart move for a show that could veer dangerously into sitcom territory in the control of lesser minds. I haven't seen a show yet this year with a better written character arc than Barb Hendrickson's. The scene in the finale where she outed her family to Pam was brilliant because I could see exactly how everything that had happened to her since the debacle at the Governor's mansion last season led exactly to that moment. The same goes, to a lesser degree, for Bill, Ben, and Sarah. I could clearly see how the finale last season led them to where they were in the finale this season, and that makes Big Love one of the best written shows on Television right now. Nothing that happened this season seemed contrived even for a second, and that is so refreshing.

Agreed. Not only that, but I was surprised at how well the UEB was fleshed out as antagonists this season, specifically Roman and Alby. Last year Roman just came off as a creepy old man (at least to me) but this season we really got to appreciate all of his machinations of the leader of Juniper Creek. We were also able to take Alby seriously as a villain, something that I didnt really think was possible early on this year.

Who would have thought that Mormon-type polygamists would make such great bad guys ?

Have to agree there jangoisadrunk. I think if we look back from season finale to season finale, I think the major theme is how the family has dealt with Barb's, and thus the family's outing:

Sarah - Who had simmering anger at her father for forcing betraying her mother with the choice of polygamy, has openly stated her love for her mother and disappointment in her father and his cult. Although she loves her family, she cannot share their values. It is important to remember that Sarah as the oldest has the strongest and fondest memories of life before Nikki.

Barb - Has done a complete 180. She was ashamed and angry for being outed as a polygamist. She was angry at Bill for their choice of polygamy. She questioned whether or not she could continue live the lifestyle. She is also upset about the constraints of her lifestyle, from being isolated to her family to not being able to sleep next to her husband every night. In the end she choice to continue practicing the principle, but out in the open, and not behind closed doors.

Bill - Is more determined than ever to live the principle. He knows that he may be outed in the future and knows he has to find a way to support his family if public sentiment ever turns against HomePlus. This leads to his accquisition of Weber gaming and the problems that arise from his accquisition.

Margene - Seeing that Barb might leave steps up and becomes more assertive in the family and family decisions. With this assertiveness I believe she is tired of being viewed as the baby wife, and wants a fourth wife.

Ben - Has a quite different reaction than his older sibling. He fully embraces polygamy and is ready for multiple wives before he even has one.

I dont think that Ben is as ready as he thinks he is to live the Principle. I think alot of this is a reaction to Brynn dumping him. I dont think you go from a typical horny, sexually active teenager to a chaste faux virgin at the blink of an eye.

When Ben told Sarah, "we're pioneers too," I absolutely took him as being truthful. This, to me, indicates that he really believes in the Principle and not just trying to get his mom back for screwing up his relationship with Brynn.
