Discussion Potential Threats/Antagonists For New Films

Nightsisters of Dathomir as well as a new breed of Nightbrothers (Mauls)

 

Questions:

1. what can terrorist zealots look like in the GFFA? It seems like the Nihil (of the High Republic era) might be the closest, with them being anti-Force/Jedi and attacking beacons/fairs so their space can stay in anarchy overrun by them.

2. more of a comment, but I don’t think any anti-human/nonhuman movement would be seen as “gray” - that’s almost as black-and-white evil as you can get

 

Nightsisters and Zeffo takes over from Sith as main villains in Dawn of the Jedi and New Jedi Order eras

 

Maybe the Son could be a villain in the DOTJ movie?

 

Maybe in second or third movie in the era. I think first movie be little more easy for casuals.

 

I like the idea of a new father-son-daughter thingy.

 

Im sure the Sith can return one day in the Post Rise of Skywalker Timeline since anyone can be Force Sensitive now it is only a matter of time for some Sith Fanatic discovers some Sith Holocron to become a Sith

* new Trade Federation (perhaps related to the theme explored on Canto Bight in TLJ with military-industrial complex fuelling war to profit from both sides)
* Droid Rebellion (sympathetic?)
* redesigned Yuuzhan Vong (how to make an alien threat that's truly alien?)
* Force-related hivemind


(so they don't get lost with the thread merge, sorry, I thought non-darkside/imperial/warlord/gangster villain brainstorming was unique enough)

 

Have we had a mad scientist in Star Wars yet? They make pretty good villains. Maybe 50% Rotwang, 50% Princess Bubblegum. That could work.

I'd cast Jared Harris.

 

This last season of Bad Batch had a mad scientist villain.

 

Also Clone Wars in its first season.

 

Not my favorite kind of villain.

 

I'm guessing they will delve into the more mystical and mythological aspects with new movies and connect the dots to something more ancient (thus connecting to the Jedi origin movie(s)).

 

New Jedi Order movie will be connected with Dawn of the Jedi movie. So maybe a long locked away villain.

 

If I recall correctly, the Phantom Menace novelization refers to the first ever Sith as “Darth Ruin,” and Kylo Ren was even gonna be named after Ruin, at one point. I could see them going back to something like that.

 

I doubt we see sith in either. One is before and is after them.

 

I feel like we can almost guarantee that. Locked away but also somehow at least alluded to in the Ahsoka/Thrawn/Filoni storylines.

 

I’d love for Duel of the Fates to be a Nightbrother battle chant.

The founder of the Sith isn’t given any name in the novelization of TPM. Legends sources gave him the names “Phanius” and “Darth Ruin”.

 

Even then, that wasn’t the founder of the Sith, even in Legends. It was restarted many times in Legends.

 

IIRC, in legends, didn’t Sith start out as an alien race? And then it became the name of specific darksiders?

 

He’s said to have founded the Sith “almost two thousand years ago” in the TPM novelization, but Legends had already shown the Sith being around longer than that, so he was retconned into being the founder of the “New Sith”.

The Sith species was conquered by fallen Jedi, hence those fallen Jedi became the “Dark Lords of the Sith”.

 

In canon the Sith are at least between 7000-5000 years old.

 

I’d love for them to be as old as the Jedi.

 

Dosent makes mutch sense though, when Jedi were the first force user religion with lightsabers.
