No idea what Hogan's Heroes are but does ANYTHING really have Tension?

There was a show on British TV the last few weeks, starring Hugh Laurie as a weapons dealer and Tom Hiddleston (Loki) as a spy. It was badly written and there wasn't any doubt as to if the good guys won. Everyone praised it and loved it.

I was stuck really, it was well acted just badly written.

So my question is Can a story have Tension? Or Have the good guys lose?

Will people flip if they don't?

(I'm being slightly hypocritical there because that was one of the things I didn't like about TFA- seemed really depressing and the Big Three kinda went to pot and became unhappy. Yeah there were " Good times" but it would have been nice to see. Seemed to much like Real Life (parents are divorced) for me.

Midwestern accent isn't really a thing. Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin/Michigan are like mini-Canadians, rest of Wisconsin is...well..Wisconsin, Michigan is Michigan, Indiana is different north/south, Illinois is Chicago & farmland, North Dakota down is farmland with the occasional city with a city slicker accent, Ohio has Cincinnati and Cleveland, and Missouri/Iowa are just all mixed and messed up.

 

Seagoat , ignore the joke we were going to pull on the thread, can you ban me for one month or something? I, need some time off seeing that im a bit obsessed with this forum, since i need to wake up in 2 hours. A little vacation time from the forum should be good for me

Actually serious this time, i need to focus on more important matters like school than a grievous debate. I might write my opinion after my ban has gone away, but i cant do this anymore, im clearly obsessed with this forum
