I was doodling on Photoshop whilst watching NeverEnding Story (in GERMAN!) and err yes, Allana is the outcome. Referenced from a TV Screen thanks to the very sweet Child Empress... Isn't doodle-age fun!? :p

Haha, I can READ German, but I was watching it as my friend is German, and I thought it'd be cool if he could speak German some more instead of English all the time, so I've resorted to try and learning it through videos, books and him! :p

Oh, Rhi--what a beautiful portrait of Allana!! (I'm thinking her eyes have been described as gray, like her mama's...am I wrong...?) I love the hair, and she's so pretty! What age would you put this: 18? 20? Younger...? I'm very intrigued by the almost Naboo-like application of lip color--not unlike Queen Amidala's Kabuki-style lip tinting! ;) Lovely jeweled headpiece, too--all around, a very pretty piece!

They probably are grey, and started off that way... But green and ginger went better... :p
Well, I gather she looks about 15 or something, and I'm in love with Naboo so I decided to mimic it almost- I just LOVE the make up they wear! :D
Thankies for looking FF- it's an honour for you to come here as your work is amazing! [face_blush]

I can't draw for jelly, but I've ALWAYS loved Photoshop.
Recently, a friend of mine was giving away their VUE 5, a landscape creator *of sorts, I find it hard to master!* and I decided to start a little project (after some disasterous rendering!)...
Here's my piece, "Death of a X-Wing"... Presumably the poor pilot is about to crash into the water, but then I was always an Imperial gal! :p
    [image=http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/thesweetchildren/xwingdeath.jpg]
I painted the fire onto the X-Wing, and created the smoke using some photographs I had of Mount Etna and converting them into brushes. The landscape you see is artificial, and took me forever and a day to render it!
I'm still working on the smoke and fire... But for a WIP of mine, it's not too bad! :p

Ah, kewl!! Great "disaster" feel to this, rhi (and I'm loving the b/g, btw!)! I think the only thing I could suggest (for future consideration, however, and not as a revision for this piece), is to have some sort of reflection or shadows or some indication on the water surface of this imminent impact: the ship is a nanosecond from crashing, so we would naturally see something like that, to show her proximity to the surface. Outside of that little crit, I really like this image (and I think you're getting quite a handle on VUE, too! ;) )!

You. Are. So. Right. I can't believe I forgot the fact that water reflects... *head meets desk*
Back to Photoshop I go! :p
    Thankies FF! :D
EDIT: FIXED! Thanks so much Falcon for noticing that or I'd never have found it! Have a cookie. :)

    [image=http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b147/thesweetchildren/yuzcorusccopy.jpg]

Just to show my submission for March's Fanart Contest, I'll explain the different parts of the picture. :)

The planet- My edition of Coruscant after the Yuuzhan Vong basically destroyed it (and one of the moons), so I put some nice brown gassy stuff down... :p The brush was just a normal one on Photoshop, made with sweeping movements on 30% Opacity. There's about... 22 Layers to the actual planet, and about 40 on the Yuuzhan Vong! :p

Erm yes, the main "figure" of the YV was a Daz3d model (I just used it as a reference on which to model the skull on) and that was basically it. I Photoshopped everything else in with my trusty homemade brush set! :p

YIKES!! Scary Yuuzhan Vong face there! =D= I really like the composition of this, with the face sort of ghosted behind Yuuzhan'tar; the planet looks good, too--most excellent shadowing there. I like that black framing, as well--it gives it a very finished feel and look. Great work with "creating" your YV--that's as scary a face as I could imagine on one! ;) Very nice work!

Thankyou both Mitth and Falcon! :)
FF- You have NO idea how much hell that planet put me through... :p
Mitth-The eyes were pure hell for me to colour in (I'm an idiot and painted them), slits are soo hard and I'm glad it's finished! :p

Thanks there Bieren and Princess! :D

Right, I'm currently *attempting* the mammoth task of making Admiral Ar'alani.
So far, this picture has taken me an HOUR to photoshop, and her jacket is made of an old dress of my mom's that I photographed and hacked to pieces on Photoshop and put together again.
She's still being worked on *extensively* but I've got to the point where I can't distinguish the fading colours anymore, so critique would be nice so I could finish this one off. :p

Whoa, cool Rhi! I'm a complete dolt when it comes to PS, but I'll try to offer some things that can be applied generally (though I don't see a lot of suggestions I can make, honestly!): I really like the face (is this Angelina Jolie...? The lips look like hers! :p )--you may want to intensify the color of the eyes just a bit more, and perhaps emphasize her brows just a touch (they seem to have faded off a bit, maybe with the coloring)--be sure that the shadow from her head (take a close look at how it comes across below her chin here) shows up on the shoulder of her white uniform--consistent shadows make things more cohesive in the manip. That's really all I have--hope it helps rather than confuses! This is shaping up to be a great portrait of a Chiss military officer!

Wow, I abseloutely love your thrawn wallpaper, it could be a recruitment poster, but what a poster it would be!
I also really like your random Chiss woman piece, very nicely put together and your really brave with the colours but it works so well :)
I can't post without saying how great it is to see another piece of Yuuzhan Vong art (i'm somewhat a fan lol) chilling and poinient that, could be good as a book cover. Great work!

Falcon- [face_love] Serious. When you're manniping, you focus too much on some things and totally forget about others. Have a batch of cookies! :p
I'm working on the suggestions right now... You have NO idea how much trouble that pic gave me. I'll show you the Original and After pictures... It's harder than it looks! [face_frustrated]
Blue- Thanks there Blue! [face_blush] A YV fan? Oooh yay! I have a love/hate relationship with them! :p
Vana- [face_laugh] I knew you'd say something like that! :p

You are welcome :) , and a love/hate relationship? XD I can perhaps see why.
I have done a whole series of sketches of them in my art thread :D
Can't wait to see more of your Chiss arts. I don't think I mentioned it before, but you've done a really good job with Allana's striking appearence there!

    Hi rhi!
The Chiss woman looks very cool! Personally, I'd make her eyes bigger. [face_devil] Would make her more evil and impressive, I guess. Her body seems to be a bit too big for her head, but I'm not sure and since she wears an uniform.... [face_thinking] no clue. But we all know the Chiss come from an ice-planet, so wearing thick clothes would only be logical.
    All in all, she's lovely. @};- =D=

And the Death of an X-Wing one is great! It looks awesome!

YV Coruscant is creepy. Or the face of the Vong, more precisely. And I can so imagine Coruscant being brown after they've tranformed it... [face_worried] *shivers*

Wunderbare Bilder! =D= Sorry, dass ich so viele verpasst habe. 8-} [:D]
    Translation:
Wonderful pictures. Sorry that I've missed so many.
(native German...if you want me to leave replies in German to practise, just say so)

PS: If you want to watch more movies in German, Ice Age and Finding Nemo have great voices in German. Though finding Nemo might be a bit complicated since it has more colloqual German and even somewhat Turkish German. (Like "Ey, fettes sorry!")

    Haha thanks there Chilla! :)
Her clothing was meant to be a bit bigger than per usual, as I was working on the "ice planet" theory that their clothes might be a bit more... Padded! :p
I'll see what I can do about the eyes and everything and try and get the newer version up here sometime soon! :p
Thanks about DOAXW and the YV picture... I'm trying to come up with a new picture for the new contest, as it keeps me going, albeit slowly! :p
THANKYOU SO MUCH FOR THE GERMAN!
I got some of it, and then pieced the rest together. I guess this is why I'm better at READING the language than writing it. My dad is attempting to teach me to speak it, but he's fluent in the colloquialisms and stuff (lived there as a kid) so it's probably mostly outdated by now! :p

She looks very wonderful, and I really like how you added the clouds in the background as not only a focal point but also as a sign of power or prescence to go with heruniform.
