Rogue One Rogue One Trailers and TV Spots

the buried statue/monument reminded me of the Kings of Gondor from Fellowship of the Ring

 

Ya know I thought the Ip Man movies were getting way too inaccurate and silly as they progressed, but this is ridiculous. Diego Luna looks horribly miscast as Bruce Lee.

Great points all around. And yes, it would certainly require a massive amount of repulsor lift engine power to crash into Scariff. A lot more than what Cloud City utilizes, that's for sure.

 

That was interesting thanks. We came to some of the same solutions (cheats lol).
I hadn't considered making the planet really small though to allow the death star to be closer to the viewer, obvious now I think about it. I'm not bothered about a planet that small having an atmosphere because, well it's Star Wars, where whales can "swim" through space and every planet has the same safe air pressure.
So the beach jungle planet (Scariff is it?) is tiny.

 

Just came across this cool "Supercut" of all the Rogue One Trailers. This the ultimate Trailer in my opinion. It brings everything together perfectly.

I enjoyed the trailer but I must say, the music was atrocious. Not Star Wars sounding at all. Hope it's nothing like that in the film.

Eadu Landing Pad dissection;



This is the cockpit of the stolen Imperial Cargo Shuttle approaching Scarif. It's a typical Trojan Horse ruse - 'they have no idea we're coming' says Jyn herself;



And this is in the U-Wing after the Jedha City has been destroyed. Jyn basically saying 'next stop Eadu to get pops';

 

My guess is that Galen bites it on Eadu.

 

What is Eadu?

 

Not so sure myself. Krennic seems to be there to take him away, they exchange words on the Landing Pad, the X-Wing nearly blows them away and then Jyn makes a dash towards their departing shuttle. If her father had died in front of her she wouldn't be so intent on reaching him but more devastated and collapsing in a heap with sorrow, etc.

 

Maybe.

 

there are 5 planets so far in the trailers: scarif, yavin IV, jedha, the iceland planet where galen and jyn live and....eadu, the most alien-looking one in the trailers, with the rain and rocky "pillars"

 

Thanks that answers one of my earlier question where I wondered if that was another part of scarif. If thats the one attacked by X wings then I wonder what the significance of it is.

That's providing Eadu is a planet and not a place.

 

It's where another imperial research facility is, or at least that is the indication that I take from the trailers. Thats why Galen is there looking all pleased about his work, only to get sucker punched because Krennic isn't as pleased.

Or she's just filled with vengeance now. She's determined to get the person she feels is responsible for her father's death.

 

If it anything it was the X-Wing that did it.

Which raises a question. Why are the X-Wings going in heavy handed just shooting up the place? Do they not know about Jyn's plan to get to her father?

 

Well yeah, but that has never stopped a movie from going in that direction before.

Regardless, it could be more of the "grey" that we keep hearing people talk about in relation to the movie. Jyn and crew know that he's there and want to rescue him. Mon and the superiors see it as an opportunity to take out not one, but two of the leads on the Death Star. I think there are going to be a lot of those types of moments in the film.
