A star wars verion of Dr. Mengele and apparently a new big bad of series in replace of Admiral Rampart. What you think about him?

A cool, calm, calculating villain who is genuinely intimidating because of his coldness and mystery, I like it a lot. This is the kind of villain present in the OT.

I just don't see anything at all that's original or interesting about him.

Not much to go on at this point but the name annoys me more than it should.

I think Jimmi Simpson gives a really good performance, going for that soft spoken, pseudo-soothing voice (which is very much in line with the stories of Dr Mengele in the concentration camps with his victims as he mutilated them).

Star Wars doesn’t have mad scientist figures too often, but given how much it draws from real world, 20th century history it makes a lot of sense. Doubly so when you have a series that follows clones as the protagonists.

Well of mad scientists we still have Dr. Vindi who is on the other side of the spectrum, then there is this Nihil scientist who is somewhere in between.

There have been mad scientists in Star Wars, yes. Though Hemlock is the first who is the primary villain in the on-screen side of storytelling.

Also Demagol and Jenna Zan Arbor.

Regarding Hemlock - IMO, he was not very interesting in his initial appearance, but after the last three episodes of the season he became quite intriguing - especially his goal of creating an "enlightened society" (another possible reference to Dr. Strangelove), he is both intimidating and effective, already a better villain than Gideon.

I like the single black glove on one hand. Reminds me of Dr. Childress (John Cassavetes) in The Fury.

The less is said about Vindi the better. Probably my least favorite on screen Star Wars villian.

It’s purely due to his pure Saturday morning cartoon feel. Laughing all the time. Creating a deadly virus to kill literally everything. Just grated me.

Yeah, he’s the worst villain in Star Wars, followed by Grievous.

Hemlock is the way to do evil scientist. Vindi is not. It’s as simple as that in my opinion.

I can see Vindi appearing in TBB, now working for the Empire in Hemlock's team. Maybe even along with Lok Durd, that in EU also worked on developing bioweapons.

Same. Although he is hilarious in original version

I liked Vindi, it matched the wackiness of the PT era.

It'll never happen, but I'd enjoy a really dark/gritty book that dives into all the crazy unethical experiments Hemlock has probably already done to get to the position he's in now. And I bet it would involve direct dealings with Palpatine to use his character a little more in written form.
