Time to watch A New Hope after R1 on Thursday


It's been ages since I last watched the OT, I can't remember when it was

 

Oh gosh my littlest brother is sick and it's the saddest thing ever

 

There's more references to the Senate (the thing, not the man ) at the start of ANH than I'd remembered. At least twice in the Vader/Leia convo near the start they mention the Senate, and Vader's line about feeding a story about the attack to the Senate is similar to his 'Mining Accident' line in R1, a neat bit of character continuity

I just find it cool to notice that the Senate that we finally saw in TPM was mentioned more than I thought in the very first movie. R1 used mentions of an active Senate to good effect too, helping to make it starkly clear that it was pre-ANH.

Anyway, Senate rambling over, R2 just got Jawa'ed and is going up the tube

Also, I really like this 'homey' music, very soothing, especially the part where Luke's theme kicks in :

 

Slightly weird seeing the Lars garage again, I associate it so much with AOTC that seeing Luke cheerily flying his toy in the same spot is a bit unnerving
