if only people didn't complain so hard about Batman & Robin we might have got a solid movie in Batman Unchained

Basic plot went down like this:

Jonathan Crane has something against Bruce Wayne (reasons unknown) and recruits The Jokers daughter, Harley Quinn, a toy maker to help him get Bruce committed to Arkham. Meanwhile Robin decides to leave the duo after he believes he's not being respected enough, only to return in the final climatic fight.

few notes:

- Batgirl was nowhere to be seen in the script
- Nicholas Cage was approached for Scarecrow and Courtney Love was rumoured to be in for the role of Harley
- a scene was to include Batman intoxicated by fear gas where he would hallucinate he was on trial for the murders he committed in the past, the plan was to get Nicholson, De Vito, Pfieffer, Jones and Carey back for cameos.
- Clooney was unlikely to be in the role of Batman again
- the film was to be darker than forever and B & R
- Harley was to be redeemed by the end, and made a sympathetic character
