Nah, my mother just left my actual father so I'm with my mother and my step father.

Its okay, I've kinda moved past the stuff my actual father did, or at least enough so it doesn't completely sour every aspect of my life like it used to.

I actually have slightly worse problems right now that I'm trying to deal with first, and imo my parents are being slightly petty or a non-issue.

Dianna would roll her eyes and ignore that comment, as she should. Yay Captain Kirk. Shatner is coming to Seattle to do a lecture. I would really like to see him. His topic should be "how to be awesome."

I'm going to watch some original Trek today.

 

Which episodes? I just got done watching another episode of TNG.

 

I have the entire original series on DVD and I'm on season one. I'll let you know.

I think that was the episode that made me realize Star Trek wasn’t fully what I was expecting it to be. Like, I was expecting mainly cool space adventures. Instead, I got people in bunny suits and Sulu having a sword battle with a samurai. Not that I didn’t still love it.

 

That episode, and lots in the OS, are very surreal.

 

The only eps of TOS I've seen that I can remember are the one with the Alien Puppet (remember it had a rubbish resolution), one where they fought the Gorn (Arena?), and Mudd's Women (such a bizarre episode, so much sexism). That was my only foray into tv Star Trek, after the movie got me interested. Shame the show didn't grab me. The few scattered bits of TNG I've seen also haven't wowed me, especially one where they all lost their memories, but seemed to just get on fine. I didn't see how it ended though

 

there was this ep where Spock was sick,

and was ordered to rest, he didn't and got up anyway.

That one was ok

To be fair “So much sexism” can basically describe all of TOS.

Teeny Booper? They made a card out of that.






The best part about that? It never happened in the show! I think these were some of the first Trek cards ever made, and pretty much none of them were based off actual episodes.
