Man,that animation looks very nice. Kind of excited to see what they do with it.

Could be neat if they made an adaption of the comics in this style. Some of the main star wars comic series look very awkward, but contain good stories. This could be a better way of showing those stories.

This is important. Giving things a chance, in fact multiple chances, is helpful, imo.
It can actually change your entire perspective on the world and life, in general, and when applied to certain topics. Including film studies.

For example, most of my friends IRL and on the JCF know that Stanley Kubrick is my favorite director in cinema history.

Let me share these facts to help illustrate my initial point through personal examples.

The first time I saw The Shining I was not too fond of it. Why? I was too little to see it and it scared me, but I was intrigued by the camera somehow. And Jack was like a Kabuki or clown.

    2001: A Space Odyssey
Watched it with my college girlfriend and we did not "get it." So kriffing boring. So she sweetly took me to a live screening at the college theater, historical representation of A Clockwork Orange on campus. I was turned off by the violence. She was into the film, and although I could appreciate both films on a basic level, I didn't really get the point. Or the adoration/reputation. Right!

Later, I watched Barry Lyndon on a small tv. Was bored as hell, all this British crap that your gramma watches on PBS, right?
Saw Doctor Strangelove with my GF, me dad told us to watch it so we did. Felt it was rather slow, outdated humor etc..

Still, all along this journey which eventually encompassed watching and rewatching all of Kubrick's films, in tandem with many, many films from many other directors, I finally started to understand why Kubrick has the status he does, even to this day, amongst filmmakers, etc.

It's like, I finally got it! I understood. Finally.
It took long enough though; but it's worth it to know without hesitation who your favorite film director is. For me anyhow.

Incidentally, both Spielberg and Scorsese said they did Not like The Shining initially. But they love it now, Spielberg even claims its one of his favorite pictures and has screened it over 50 times.

So this thought process, of revisiting things and places and people and oneself until you've given them a full chance is what I strive to do. I'm not always successful, but I still work on it.

And I like TLJ too, JFK. Although, ironically, after several viewings, I like it less than I did initially. Although that might change with future viewings. Ya never know!
