Continuing my Saga Marathon, today it was Attack of the Clones

I must say, this is probably the most beautiful of all the Star Wars films- GL really goes all in, staging a movie that boils full in into the romanticism- echoing such pictures as The Sound of Music and Doctor Zhivago. It could be argued that this is the movie that quotes from the largest number of films/movie genres, and that also has the best third act from an action standpoint of the series.

Seeing so many movies during this lockdown has also opened my eyes into realizing how Star Wars, as devised by GL, breaks away from traditional story structure in nearly all its films. Movies with this level of ambition would never get made in Hollywood these days (if they ever will be) and shows that the idiocies people complain about are arguably its biggest strengths.

My only regret is that this movie has for some reason, gotten stuck far in the back of my mind whenever I think of Star Wars- I blame Clone Wars for this, as it took quite a bit of the spotlight of AOTC for me for a long time.

AOTC is indeed a brilliant film and one of my personal faves.

There is so much to enjoy about it and so, so many wonderful, memorable SW moments.

*looks at the forum we're in*

    That's why we're here. :obiwan:

Perhaps I am mistaken, but your post reminded me of something that Rick Moranis says in the Ghostbusters movie at the party he was hosting.
That is a very amusing movie that makes me smile. Although some of the ghosts are very creepy.

And Mr. Forest, I wanted to ask you, how is Doctor Who going for you?
Are you enjoying the show as much as you seem to do?
