Sept. Metting

Hey all! Hope everyone at Riddle has made it back ok and moving in was good. I honked at Biggie today but he didn't seem to notice. Was that your brother's old car???

Anyway, The meeting is now three weeks away. I guess I should update the website? hmmmm...

Since no one has made any suggestions I'm going to mention that my place is open for the meeting. Most people know how to get there, although I can make pickups if need be.

I'd like whoever is going to be able to attend to go ahead and post, that way I know how much food to make and how many chairs to get out and such. Also, post if you go to Riddle or will be coming from another local so I can PM you directions (again, if we have it at my place).

Since the list seems to be ok, I was thinking kick the meeting off at 10 (pick up around 945??) that way we could do a lunch and or dinner break. We're looking at about 8.6 hours of Farscape, which I have no problem with

I'm planning on being there. I might have to go to work in the afternoon, so I'd have to leave around 1, but I'll make it for as long as possible.

Oooh, college dorms. I haven't been in one of those in a long time, lol. PM me the directions, please. I'll be going north on Clyde Morris.

I will be there! I go to Riddle. I have a room mate who smells like cheese. Indeed.

 

ERFSEDS is a fine institution with a long standing history of great BBQ's, Hawaiian shirts, and blowing stuff up (since I've been Prez anyway) and my Astronomy Team has succeeded in securing an observatory to house the Riddle telescopes (currently in the Thermo Lab) so ha! I may be a Pony, but... well... ummmm... I have armor.

Q, your place is cool b/c I don't wanna havta sit in one of the riddle chairs for 8.6 hours. I made it here somewhat OK. My brakes on the car went out just outside of Daytona and we (my parents and I) almost creamed some jerk who slammed on his breaks.

I am waiting for the official word to see if this area will be evacuated. If we do not have to leave, then the meeting is still on. Let's just hope that if Ivan does hit us, it moves through faster than Francis.

 

Ok, so seeing as how Embry Riddle students are officially being evacuated as of this Sunday, I think we should just go ahead and bump our meeting back one week.

So now our meeting will be on Saturday, Sept 25th. Same time, same place, same event.

Sound good? If anyone has any problems with this, please speak up, but I think it will be easier for all of us to just hold off until beasty Ivan blasts through.

I hope everyone who is evacuating has a place to go, and that you all stay safe!

 

I officially rename this Hurricane Crackhead!

Hopefully we'll get to do this the next Saturday. There's talk going around of Saturday and possibly Sunday classes, as well as shortening the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. You figure we've missed effectively 12 days of school. The semester only has 9 or 10 Saturdays in it, depending on how you want to look at the end of the semester. I think the teachers should just go back to the curriculums they had last semester. This semester they added a week to the beginning and the end, so if the teacher follow last semester then there shouldn't be a big deal.

But, if it does happen that we can't set up a marathon in time for PW, I'm open to doing a few episodes every Friday or Saturday night for people that really want to get into it. I may do that anyway to cover the episodes we can't get in the marathon.

 

How could they shorten our holidays? They already are the bare minimum of vacation time. Our Christmas break is especially short this year.

They can't make us go to school on Saturdays. That would just plain be mean. It would make me cry, and I know they wouldn't want to do that.

 

Our next meeting is Sept 25, at Q's? I hope Hurricane Aghkillingmypaycheck doesn't do too much to Daytona, cause I want to be able to make it to my first meeting.

And it's Farscape! I haven't watched any episodes recently, so that's great.

Q, could you PM me directions? I'll be heading from DeLand, so whatever. I'm not the best at navigating East Volusia.

In the event that we can't meet for some reason, starting the first SFC is going to show all of the episodes starting every day from 4-7pm. Probably hacked up and inside out, but still shown.

 

I'll be able to make it on the 25th. That's a day to celebrate - it's Mark Hamill's birthday! Yay Mark!
