Orlando, FL Sept Party

Hey everyone. I asked Daryl to lock the other thread so we can try and to organize the information that was on the other thread into a more formal format.

Locations:
The Wickham park idea is good

Events:
The only events I've been told about are food, and pinatas. Herm is doing the pinatas. I called the Dollar Theater here in town and they aren't sure but they *think* they will STILL have Ep II in Sept.

Signups:
If people want to donate money instead of bringing stuff that would be cool to since i could probably get the stuff right before the event.

I went searching for locations this evening before my softball game. I found most of the "parks" have about the same options. Most have picnic tables, beach access, volleyball court, and some sort of restroom close by. So the real question I believe is what does everyone want to do? I haven't heard much on "events." So the only real issue is a) does the place have a grill and b)is beer allowed?

Not all the places at the beach have the two together. I don't know what Wickam allows. So please post your choice of location. Either beach side or Wickham park

I prefer park over beach but it's not like I wouldn't attend either way!

Obviously having a grill is paramount. The ability to have a brewski would be nice, but of secondary importance.

I can bring whatever you'd like me to bring...due to the drive, non-perishable items preferred!

 

Yeah. The drive is going to be a consideration for everyone except Sandy and myself. SOrry. However here are some ideas of what we *still* need or should have at the picnic.

Chips and dip
Drinks (softdrinks and such)
Ice and Coolers
Potato Salad
Side Dishes
Music
Table Cloth
Hot Dogs
Other meats (not ewok or jawa)

Oh. One other thought...is anyone a vegitarian?

I'm sure this isn't a complete list...there are plenty of supermarkets around if you want to go that route and get stuff right before you get here.

I got confirmation that we will have a "boom" box out at the picnic! Something that will play Cassettes and CD's.

Ok people call me interesting just because I run into things. But I think those last few posts are ummm well more interesting.

I could probably bring the chips, and some other snacks.

I don't usually eat pork or beef, don't ask. But I'll eat hot dogs on an occasion like this.

Art, as of now my dad can take me, thing is my sisters will probably come too. My mom has plans that day.

 

Cool! They are welcome to join us! You'll just have to warn them about the evil Thumper and Delaya monsters first. ;-) Oh. And that Buzz is the official target! And about their speech. Or else the Supreme Chancellor might crack down on them.

Kelly, my younger sister (13 going on 21) is usually shy around adults.

Jeong-ah, a.k.a Viviene, well I dunno yet, just met her yesterday.

So the Supreme Chanceller may not have to worry about their speech.

I'd like to come. I'll bring condiments- catsup, mustard, relish, etc. My husband is vegetarian so I'll be bringing some veggie "meats." Any one else a vegetarian?

I eat veggie dogs and boca burgers. while I am a dedicated omnivore I do like the way they taste when bar-b-qed. That's an option fer ya'll.

You know it is actually surprising how veggie burgers taste much like regulart burgers...only nothing beats a McDonalds 69 cent hamburger

O h by the way I have this material I am making a black cloak out of that looks like snake skin up close but is really light weight ...I think someone might be interested in it...hopefully he will read this post.

 

I can't possibly relate to you veggies. Not only will I enjoy a nice hefty steak, I'll probably kill the animal right there so the meat will be fresh.
