We already had a whole trilogy about that. And it wasn't very good.

Why change a winning concept? Let's have the Republic and the Jedi fail again, for the third time in 65 years. That should be fun.

That was the end point and now with The Acolyte we will get the beginning point, so i think middle is important part of the story...

Make a SW version of Frozen. A sibling with Force abilities and a sibling without. The one without wants to stop the one with powers from going to darkness. It's somewhat different.

I would like a "young" Palpatine project. Probably a limited series. The Darth Plagueis novel is still one of the best bits of SW literature ever written.

Wouldn’t Darth Bane and the beginning of the Rule of Two be the beginning, and The Acolyte more of a middle part?

You could say that, but i think of it more like the fall of the Jedi and Republic...and they are their best versions of themselves in High Republic...
Only thing i didnt like was Plagueis still alive in TPM when Palpatine is meant to be the master in the movie, and the idea of Plagueis creating Anakin

The ST was never really a finale of the saga. TROS was a finale of that trilogy, but not of the entire thing. It was the finale of the Skywalker bloodline, but not of the whole light vs dark battle. It never gave us closure at all. By doing more movies set in that time period (albeit 15 years later), they have a chance to truly give closure to the whole lightside vs darkside and somehow Rey can be a vehicle for the Skywalkers (the TRUE Skywalkers) to put an end to this from ghost form. Perhaps she is the Aragorn to the Force ghosts' "army of the dead" needed to battle the spirits of dark siders. That would be a cool concept. I hope Filoni helps the writers of the new movies to go all in on the mythology.

As long as people are people, there will always be darkside and lightside conflicts. It's our nature.

I care. I would be very interested in a young Palpatine story. Especially if they get a great actor like Tom Hiddleston to play him.

I suspect it wouldn't be Tom Hiddleston in the role. Usually the people fans expect is never the person cast.

While you're not wrong, there are exceptions to this; Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka comes to mind.

A young Palpatine movie would be cool, but back to THIS movie...;)

I'm going through the Art of The Force Awakens and Art of Rise of Skywalker, as well as unused concept art for the movies not in those books as well as a few of the concepts from Trevorrow's movie. I've noticed that movies tend to use a bunch of stuff that was discarded or just not able to be done visually or in the timeframe from previous movies. I would even say that, in addition to giving closure, one of the motivations for a new trilogy is to use concepts they couldn't or just didn't use before.

Tom Hiddleston is too different from Ian. Also, too many fans would just see him as Star Wars Loki. There's no way they'll cast him in that part.
And if they do, there's no way that's not a hallucination.

    I have spoken.

I want to see a clone army of Palpatines, of all ages including toddlers, running amok and wrecking not just the galaxy but the entire universe, and possibly the multiverse.
