    Why go to Iceland and film Hoth scenes when you can go to Norway, the original Hoth, and film the scenes there?

    So they will be there next month, in April, in the early spring, not the summer. Iceland might still be largely covered in ice.

    For the record, I would be fine with revisiting any of those planets you mention. I would love to see Luke and/or Leia on Naboo. I even want more Tatooine.

    But Hoth seems like a deliberate shrinking of the Galaxy to what it was in the OOT. To me it smacks of the desire to make the ST the OOT redux and "fix" Star Wars.
    And, to be clear, it's the author's fan assumptions I'm taking issue with, not some super cool plot device straight from the Maker.

    That picture is gorgeous. Star Wars needs more ice caves. Just not on Hoth. :p

    Well, Norway, like Iceland in april, is largely not covered in Snow. I live fairly close to the Norwegian border, and here we haven't had snow in a month now.
    The Hoth thing is pure speculation based on a lack of knowledge of the nordic climate [face_tee_hee]

    Yeah, I was reading about this yesterday. Interesting stuff.

    Now, I don't know how likely Ilum turning up in the story is, but I will say that I'd be on board with seeing the crystal caves realized in live-action. Just imagine how neat that could be.

    Something like that would certainly be a heck of a lot cooler (and make far, far more sense) than going back to Hoth, of all places.

    I mean, there's tying the story together with threads from the past Episodes, and then there's returning to an ice cube without enough life to fill a space cruiser.

    Yep! Although I do imagine some of those are photoshopped to a degree. I searched Iceland scenery porn, if anyone is interested (don't forget the word scenery though or you'll get very…different results).
