I don't believe you because I tend to agree with Mr. Lincoln on this...

Total waste of time, but in a way, it keeps the movie in the spotlight

I suppose "freedom of the press" would also apply here?? anyway, that's the reason I assume they're able to get away with it!

I still don't see where this nonsense of a third party being able to sue someone over a copyright that they do not own comes from. I think that the OP must have misunderstood something.

Yes they should sue when false rumors are posted. Then we would know what's real when they don't sue. :D

Interesting. Maybe they represent someone. I just can't see how a third party can sue over a copyright that isn't theirs.

Edit: It appears that they at least claim to be working on behalf of a client and not on their own. At least that is what they are claiming in the stuff that I found.

No it's a scam some lawyers take part in to try to get $150,000 out of people.

It looks like they are going for low-hanging fruit. They are vultures at best. Thank you for the links.

Can you imagine if they ever started trying to go after Star Wars related stuff? Thank Goodness that Uncle George has always been very cool about fans using his stuff.

If they didn't do that during the prequel film-making era, why would they now?

All is fair in Love and War and the Interwebs. Plus, LFL/Disney probably love the confusion, no one is going to have the real story until the movie comes out.

Use common sense when dealing with rumors.

Like El Mayimbe is only trying to get hits and followers, so he is NOT worth my time!

Different ownership can cause a shift in attitude towards litigation. I'm not saying Disney will do this but that is a reason why the same corporation change its litigiousness over time.

We don't want to go down that path. That very well could effect The Force.net, and this spoiler forum.

We already lived a life with Pablow's approved spoilers that didn't amount to any significance. But did succeed in spawning countless / baseless arguments where Pablow's words were used as "canon".

Unless it's something really bad I doubt it. It's free publicity for the most part. It's win win for both parties. The rumor sites get hits and the movie gets mentioned.

They would probably be suing ppl left and right. And in a fit of confusion Lucasfilm accidently sued itself.

We don't yet know that there was no truth to those rumors. Maybe there was/is. Too early to tell yet.
