Finale was underwhelming. It did all it had to but left too many important questions unanswered and didn't feel satisfying. Why we didn't see what happened afterwards, Wim becoming pilot for the New Republic or something, Neel returning to help people on At Acchran or something, Jod being sent to prison but then escaping...

Cameo from Mon Mothma or Leia (CGI but anyway) or Hera would've worked well since now no one represented New Republic officially so it felt underwhelming.
It's also mysterious why Palpatine left this planet alone after order 66 not turning it into imperial mint, did he already plan his First order Last order stuff and wanted to leave it alone for that reason...

Character shields were so strong I never felt any character could be hurt so tension was not working and didn't think Jod would kill anyone and well he didn't.

It was one of the better SW shows all in all, but still not very good finale.

So - there's a lever that turns off the entire planetary defence system ?

    a lever?

The whole finale was one dumb scene after another.

Absolutely brilliant. Does it move the needle massively in terms of lore and wider ramifications on the galaxy ? Probably not. But this was just a well told, fun, action packed ending and quite honestly that’s a good refreshing change.

I was really invested in the last 20 minutes or so. Got enough about Jod’s back story to keep me going and I can’t wait to see more of him. Im pretty sure we will see more of him as in his final scene he pulled somewhat of a smirk when the pirates were going down, but just before that despite everything that had happened Wim still shouted his name to suggest he didn’t want to leave him

B Wings with the Rebels weapons!!!!! Amazing little Easter egg for me as a huge Rebels fan.

I’m very happy overall with the series. There are a few questions I’d like to be delved into further.
    1) If the last message that the supervisor received was that the Jedi were traitors to the republic, then did the empire purposely decide to stop communication to make it a ‘lost planet’ and a ‘myth’ ? Keeping it quiet to utilise the planet in the future ?

    2) Who was the ‘they’ that Jod referred to ? Sounds like Inquisitors, because clones wouldn’t have ‘made him watch’ he would have also been eliminated

    3) What is the great work still ? Just to create the credits ?

    Brilliant ending

well there were certainly....choices made this episode for sure, and I'm not seeing the 'perfect' gift, wrapped with a nice pretty bow ending I've read in this thread, but I wouldn't call it one dumb scene after the other. The tone of it fitted every other ep. I just think it ended abruptly that could have used some kind of epilogue...

Did Neel finally talk to his crush?

"That's alright, you can just hang out with me and Neel" - did the kids remain friends? Did they hang out with each other afterwards?

Little things like that would have been neat to see, even if not that important in the grand scheme of things.

Except the turret, elevator, and various other things needed to move the plot along

EDIT: actually, that was the Superviser dying. Yes, the lever turns off the planetary defense system.

But seriously...you fight the battle with what you have. And the NR seems to think fighters can deal with everything. It would have been cool to see a NR capital ship...maybe even something we have not seen on screen before like a Liberator or Assault Frigate...but they decided X-wings, B-wings and a CR90...none of which have tractors as standard. And if the enemy is choosing NOT to get out of the way of civilians you can't just go easy on them because the longer they are there the more civilians can be hurt.

The Supervisor hadn't seen an emissary for a very long time, which I can assume is definitely since before the fall of the Republic. The message about the Jedi being traitors to the Republic couldn't have mentioned anything about the Empire, since Palpatine formed the Empire after the message was sent out.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that there had been zero contact between At Attin and the outside galaxy for decades. They have 1139 vaults full of Old Republic credits just sitting there. Those kids are probably the first beings to exit the Barrier since the Republic fell.

    What?

Jedi were publicly declared traitors literally in the same speech as Palpatine formed the Empire. Before that, only the clones knew of that, via a secret Order 66 directive. Bail did not know. Padme did not know. It was made known in the very same speech, in which the Republic officially ceased to exist. The Supervisor could not have known that the Jedi were traitors and not know that the Republic no longer existed and was reorganized into the Empire. It makes no sense.

The Supervisor: There are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns - the ones we don't know we don't know.

    Jod: that doesn't make sense

Writers: aye, but it's close enough

 How would that work then ? Like what are they producing the credits for?

Also - why did Jod even wanna share all his loot with those pirates? they'd tried killing him often enough.

It's a society ruled by droids. They don't know the Republic has fallen so they just keep working because that's what they're programmed to do.

He needed them to control the population so they could steal the credits. And his ship could only hold so much loot so bringing the bigger ship in means he can steal more. And he also probably didn't want them coming after him if he double crossed them. There's 1139 vaults so why make a headache for yourself when there's more than enough credits for everyone.

He didn't just want to steal the credits...he wanted to keep making more. That's why he needed the pirates. So he could control the planet.

Fun enough, but the ending was too abrupt. Not enough character resolution even if it was trying to leave room for a second season. The pirate ship descending on Star Wars suburbia was really well done, I kind of wish the show was more of that atmosphere overall and less the kids immediately blasting off on the off world adventure.

Why don't they know the republic has fallen? is the Republic,Empire, New Republic never in contact with them? They're producing these credits for the galaxy .

I still think he's lying and doesn't have Force powers at all. When he levitates the lightsaber in front of the supervisor, Fern tells her mother it's a trick. I think that was the writers putting in some doubt (and heavy handed foreshadowing) that it's just a scam, like his many personas, (which would have been extrapolated on in future seasons which we're probably not going to get.) He kinda reminds me of Heath Ledger's Joker in that respect, who had a different story about his scars each time he told it. Jod has been a pirate in the GFFA for most of his life, I'm sure he knew the Jedi were extinct and had been labeled as traitors, how could he not? I think he was just playing up the Jedi impersonation because he thought the supervisor was ignorant of GFFA events.

Doubtful. I think any Inquisitor would have killed Padawan Jod along with his master anyway.

Part fun, part eye-roll. I could join in the grumbling but it's a kid's SW tv show and it did fine as such. If there's no second season (and there probably won't be) then no doubt any questions will be answered in a book or comic somewhere along the line.

    All good.

I knew people would still doubt he was force sensitive even after the reveal,

He has the force, it couldn't have been more clear than in this final episode.

Unless you want to also assume NOBODY in the GFFA can use the force, and it's all just a bunch of "simple tricks and nonsense"

It wasn't that clear. He is still just using the same push/pull technique. Fern even called it out as a trick which I think the writer's purposely did to telegraph that he really isn't, otherwise, why that line of dialogue?

In Jod's case I think it is. What can I say, I'm a skeptic.

Maybe Supervisor's "outside galaxy is so dangerously unstable" words is a hint that it knows about the Empire, but considers it a Republic's inner political turmoil, so no reason to stop the production of credits.

Fern says it's a trick because he is not who he says he is. He's no jedi and no ambassador. She isn't referring specifically to his use of the force.

and that's what someone who was taught the basics of the force would be able to do, He's not going to be doing Jedi knight/master level stuff

also, if he does have some kind of contraption or whatever, then the pirates aren't great at their profession in frisking him, are they?

At the end of the day I think I enjoyed The Acolyte more than this. At least that show took risks, furthered the lore, had a badass villain and a great lead performance from Lee Jung Jae.
