Sock tampons? I don't know anyone who uses sock tampons. That would be gross. Did you guys even read the thread? Notably the bit about the landing zone?

Ostrich... sock maxi pads are equally as gross... sorry.

 

Might I take this moment to point out that women used cloth pads for thousands of years before the invention of disposable pads? The principle is the same. Besides, it's still a lot LESS gross than nothing at all, which would be my other option in the event of sock-usage.


That's it. I am done defending my viewpoints to you all who have never experienced the wilderness with nothing but a spare pair of socks, some granola bars and a flashlight. Back to asking questions about (read: "passing critical judgments on") SLG's hair.


I think it's important that no matter what style she chooses, that Yane get the same one so they can continue to look identical.

 

Okay

1) sock maxi pads are way less gross than sock tampons

2) sock maxi pads are way way grosser than actual cloth pads, which you can buy so I don't see why you need to use socks

3) cups are way less gross than cloth pads or sock anything

Hey! Why is a store-bought cloth maxi pad automatically better than a home-made cloth maxi, eg. a sock? You're losing serious hippie cred in my eyes, Dani.

 

I just don't see the practicality of it, Beth. I mean... I assume you change the sock / cloth as often as you'd change a pad / tamp... and then what? Do you throw the bloody / smelly sock in with the rest of the laundry? Dunno... if one is concerned with the environment / disposable products, why not invest in a cup, which is reusable, instead of dealing with a rank load of bloody cloth every month?

 

I am wearing socks now, and this thread, as well as the Passed-Out Yane, is making my feet and ankles feel dirty.

 

I'm sure this is part of some perverse ritual to summon jedikitty back.

Harps, I think most cloth pad gals do put them in the regular laundry. Or I guess you could handwash them if you were paranoid about mixing them with other clothes.

 

To actually contribute to the thread topic... I like it. I agree with Beth... it works with your face... good choice.

Now to the "sub topic"... that just seems silly, Beth. So a person who works all day long would either have to rinse the socks out in public restroom sinks and carry them around with her all day long until she got home... or wear the same one all day... which is pretty damn foul.
