    Most people should be aware of this. It would be ridiculous to have new games meant for the new system be playable on an old one, unless it's a cross gen game.

    It's a little different, though, when you're talking about an older game that is essentially being patched. If you buy the NS1 edition, you could theoretically play it on either system- but you'd only have the patched install (if you paid for it or had NSO) on the NS2 (presumably with a separate save file). Or if the NS2 Edition was an "all of the above" release stored on an NS1 cart, they may have been able to allow forwards compatibility with the game. You just gotta plan around your use case.

    Apparently that awesome Piranha Plant camera for NS2, instead of being 1080p like the Nintendo branded one, is only 480p :eek:. They still MAKE 480p cameras? Damn, I really wanted that one.

    Well, I still intend to put games on my Switch that's for this system and leave the Switch 2 only games on it. But that's just me.

    MarioKart World Direct was cool, but I'm not super hype about it. I'll play it if I get the bundle when it's $50 but not $80 separately

    Thankfully the pro controller for the original Switch will work on the Switch 2 (aside from not having the “C” button that I wouldn’t use anyway).

    A $5 increase on just accessories but not games or consoles is really about as close to a best-case scenario (shy the ending of tariffs in general) that you could hope for.

    Also would not have the programmable back paddles.

    And for some reason it never occured to me over the past few years to check to see if the Wii U Pro Controller could work with the Switch. And, apparently, it can with a wireless adapter. Dammit! This whole time?! Like, the NS1 Pro Controller is great, but symmetrical sticks? =P~

    Honestly as much as I love my premium PS5 whatever the hell it’s called controller I have never found a use case for those things.

    My immediate thought would be Star Wars Squadrons, were it to get a port or sequel. You really cannot map everything to a normal controller. Having 2 extras would be useful.

    Works for me. My controller is still in good shape and I mostly use the analog stick for 3D Mario, F13, FF VII-X2 and the Batman games.

    My pro controller unfortunately has a case of drift, but it’ll still work for Mario Kart. I’m just happy that I won’t have to buy my son a new controller. I can live with the joy cons for other games. :)

    Looks like Amiibo are going up by $10. Zelda/1st party is up to $30 now, Street Fighter/3rd party now $40.
