TV Discussion So... a Darth Vader vs Ahsoka Tano throwdown... how would you actually want that to go?

I did not see that coming, made me unexpectedly bust out laughing.

Maybe he would order Vader to kill Ahsoka, even though that could breed resentment from Vader.

You make some very good points! My favorite way to solve this whole dilemma was actually in James Lucenos "Darth Plagueis". In there it was explained that Palpatine abandoned the rule of two and even Plagueis himself wasn't very interested in it, because he allowed Palpatine to train Maul in the ways of the dark side. I think it would be absolutely in character for Palpatine to just disregard it if it doesn't suit him. Limiting the number of Sith to two may have made sense when the Sith needed to remain hidden, but after conquering the galaxy it lost its purpose. The rule of two was a means to an end, and when that end was reached, that means was no more necessary.

 

While Palpatine is pretty emphatic about the Rule of Two when confronting Maul in The Lawless - that might just be him playing on Maul's sense of inferiority.

 

Well, that would still be before ROTS. Maybe he ditched the rule of two afterwards? I would prefer it to be this way, because then everything would fit neatly together.

 

Thats what I was thinking he thought then with had finally won so why not added more.

 

What I'd like to happen is Vader lets Ahsoka go but the Emperor thinks he killed her (or Vader thinks that's what he thinks....) and maybe Ahsoka could do some Rebellion stuff on Alderaan where she is killed when the planet is destroyed...
Idk don't really want Vader to kill her but might be okay if they do it right....

 

I'd prefer Ahsoka go down in a duel instead of blowing up like billions of other people, but I like what you were aiming for.

It'd be pretty cool to see a twist in the plot with Sidious assuming Ahsoka's death, and Vader simply plays it off to defend her from death itself.

 

If that happened, I am going to be disappointed but not surprised, I just don't know why Ahsoka should get a special treatment. I mean every main characters in Star wars end up to be dead so why not Ahsoka ?

But seriously, I don't see why she would, but as far as Ahsoka ending up dead, I don't think Disney would be to happy about a now well known character suddenly leaving the screens by simply collapsing to a Sith Lord. If it were my decision, she'd be dead from the hands of the famous Darth Vader, simply because she more than likely wouldn't turn to the Dark Side. Vader would just prefer to "put her down" instead of trying to turn her over.

 

Unfortunately, everything seems to be decided by the level of the popularity of a character.

So she leaps up and decapitates Vader, Palpatine, Tarkin, and the Inquisitor in one swing?

 

Filoni might like Ahsoka - but going by SW Insider, I could see him having Vader as a much better fighter.

Maybe it'll be like Star Wars Purge (many Knights, Masters & Padawans vs Vader, all losing) - only with a whole team of "pet characters" vs Vader all at once (Ahsoka, Maul, Ventress, Hondo, Cad Bane, etc) - and Vader thrashes the lot and sends the survivors fleeing.

Because a lot of sad basement dwelling neckbeards have made a waifu out of her, and per tropery that kinda character doesn't get killed off?

Now that I think about it, maybe she is the one that got to kill the inquisitor.

 

The Alderaan thing? Yeah I kind of skipped the previous pages lol sorry....

 

No nicknames, no attempts to turn her, no recollections of previous memories. Just a cold hearted executioner. This is what any possible encounter should be. Only his son being tortured in front of him was able to force him to face his jedi past and question his loyalties. vader had no problem trying (and eventually succeeding) in killing Obi-wan and nameless younglings. He should have no problem killing his former student.

That being said, I have a strange sense the encounter involves Vader personally executing the inquisitor for incompetence.

 

I'd be happiest if Ahsoka doesn't know who Vader is, and Vader doesn't care who he's fighting. They avoid acknowledging each other and give us a spectacular duel without flirting with any redemption or reconnection rubbish. It's not how I'd expect it to play out but that's what I'd like to see.

 

Idk don't feel like Vader just stabbing her or something is enough...

Or good enough I should say... It should be something more special not sure what that could be though..
