I'm back, I'm on level 6, and I have yet another question. Can you go back and replay missions?

Once you beat the first 2 difficulties the level select feature becomes unlocked and you can replay any missions.

I've got a question to all those who are on the 3rd difficulty (lietenant).
On the mission in the jungle where you gotta rescue the POW's does anyone have any good strats. I'm all out of ideas and I keep getting wasted.

    be very,very quiet...... 8-}

Seriously,i usually work out a routine for missions. I found ambushing and going around the pathes given worked. And once you've killed Magnus i found taking his AKS-74 was affective against enemies (you should already have since you beat the game 3 times)

I generally recommend that you pick up an AK-74 unless you're in a pure stealth mission. But once you're in close quarters, stealh doesn't really matter since most of the terrorists scream like little girls once you've killed them in an enclosed area.

There's been several occassions where I've seen the AK-74 hit targets behind light cover and even some thin walls. You lose the scope that you'd have with your M4, but you gain so much more power. And AK ammo is plentiful :D

The AK-74 is my favorite for the last mission. You can shoot a guy from medium range and STILL blow him back several feet :D

I went online for the first time tonight and it was great but, I will say I have just as much fun playing SP. Overall, online was a interesting experience. I played against one group called <DVS>, they were so good, I thought they were cheating. I think the big problem is you have some real weirdos online and it can sometimes make the game less enjoyable. Don't get me wrong though this game is still great whether you are online or playing SP.

Man that bites, I was on SOCOM online until 9:eek:o pm western on Sat.
I didn't know your screen name cause i logged off at 9:30 pm on 2/14, just before your post. :( plus i wasnt able to go c the JC this weekend, double :(
O well hopefully i can be on again this SAT.
You can even catch my friend online with the name Akr Boyz. And my official name is clntrpr-327 :) .

But a few interesting things happened to me this weekend, while playing online a cheater on the other team glitched and got into a wall and was able to see and shoot any one on the screen. I knew cause one of my dead teamates told me, then the cheater sniped me and my buddies through a mountain and a building.
But in the next round i got some revenge, at the glitching wall i tossed a couple of smoke grenades blocking the cheaters view. The cheater couldnt find his wall so then i chucked a grenade which knocked him down, then trying to get up i shot his legs, then trying to get up after that I planted a grenade, then after finally getting up KA-BOOM. [face_devil]
He was the last of their team and we won, we then celebrated by jumping around, doing the SOCOM dance on the game, throwing grenades/smoke on dead enimies, and the rest :D

Speaking of cheaters, one of the few times that I actually got to play SOCOM online was on my friend's account, and I was introduced to the fun-sucker that is the slide cheat. Everytime I'd get a guy to keel over he'd just slide away...

It's a simple cheat, but it's cheap and ruins the game for me. Bah!

But anyways, what are your favorite weapons in SOCOM?

    SEALS
For the primary, I've recently grown attached to the M14. Sure, it has a pathetic clip size (20) and the recoil is horrible. But on single fire the gun is friggin' lethal. And if you practice enough with 2-4 round bursts on full auto, recoil doesn't become an issue :) The only other gun I really like is the HK5SD. Good close-range weapon. Frostfire is the HK5's home.

For the secondary, I like the Mark 23. It's rate of fire isn't as high as the 226, but it's stopping power more than make up for it. As a general rule I only use pistols at extremely close range, so I like being able to drop a terrorist with one shot instead of pumping half a clip into him and hoping that he doesn't fire back.

    TERRORISTS
Unless I need a good submachine gun for maps with tons of close quarters combat (which the F90 works wonders), it's either AK47 or AKS74. I can't decide which one I prefer. Power vs. accuracy and rate of fire. I guess the AKS74, since it goes friggin' fast on full auto. Though SOMETIMES I use the 552 for it's scope.

As for handguns, it's either the Desert Eagle or Model 18. And the only reason I use the Model 18 is because it has full auto and is LOUD. Against bots it's useless, and it's a weak gun and inaccurate, but human players get skittish when something that small fires that many bullets at close range :D But the Desert Eagle kills stuff in one hit. 'Nuff said.

Of course, the best weapon to me is still a good ol' rifle butt to the head. It's quiet, you don't waste ammo, and it makes me feel like I'm playing Halo :p

Online, I tend to go thru phases. I used to play as DONKEY KONG online, and for a while, was ranked in the top 2000 of all players online (Out of something like 700,000+)...untill a certain game called GTA:VICE CITY came out and have hardly been back to SOCOM since.

When I played, I generally did really well with the .50 caliber sniper rifle on either side. I also liked using the M4SD as a Seal, and the AK-74 as a sniper. I liked the silenced M9 pistol as a Seal, and the Desert Eagle pistol as a Terrorist.

Well, I just got this game about a week ago, played it a little bit (I'm on Mission 7 in Single player, Difficulty-Ensign)...So far I really like it...

Friday night I played online the first time...whoo boy I've only played SP once since then...

Even though I'm still a Newb, and some of the guys online are really good, it's a blast...

My screenname online is _Nicodemus_ and I'm usually in the US Central Servers...If you see me there, give a shout! :)

That sliding cheat is something I learned a couple of weeks ago, pretty useful for cheating :p
My favorite terrorist weapon is the AKS-74 and the F-90 too. The F-90 for the 50 bullet clip and the AKS-74 for its accuracy.

Finally there are more SOCOM players on the JC, tho I have met quiet a few players from the gamers.com boards.

I forgot to add that online my fav seal weapon is the MA41 SD, this weapon as I think is far more superior.
-It has a 30 round clip
-Fast firing rate, you can take out an enemy by simply putting the cursor over the enemy briefly
    -Very accurate
    -pops up very slightly
-and it makes that cool "THWIP,THWIP,THWIP..." sound :D

Using smoke grenades is also usefull, espeacially for a sneak attack or after planting a bomb.

    JMKitFisto-a 2-player co-op mode would be a great idea...

By the way, what are everybody's control configurations? I have look speed at 100%, acceleration at around 70%, and dead zone at 35%. I've tried playing with 100% acceleration but I end up missing more often than I do with a lower acceleration.

I chose sharp shooter, but the other things my friend set. It works perfectly and you can get head shots easily when someone comes out of nowhere.

As of LaBussVassal's topic, I think we should form a JC clan online if anyone is interested.

Hopefully I will be able to play online at 3:00 (western US time).I bumped up my ranking to the 10,000. :D But I was using my friends Sn and I boosted his instead.. :(

    Anyone wanna form a clan?
