Come now, what's the big deal? The Fettster kept himself busy after his father died, running around the galaxy, training for his bounty hunter career in all sorts of circles, including the law enforcement on Concord Dawn.

 

And he may have perpetrated some really heinous crimes, so he wants to adopt a new identity, and since being a clone would certainly be some sort of stigma (see The Annotated Screenplays) that gives him all the more reason to wish to do so.

 

There's nothing wrong with trying to fit stuff into continuity. But in this case, it isn't even necessary. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

 

it's just that some of you are thrilled with Eu stuff being in AOTC, and thats cool, that doesn't bother me, but if something in the EU gets change, you go into deep denial.

Dark Empire sourcebook seems to indicate that that is the way they're usually instructed. I think Thrawn just used flash learning cause he was desperate.

i understand that, i do it as well, but to say that boba fett is still jaster mereel? that might be going a bit far. i have stopped trying to make sense of it all. the books are great, but the movies are it for me. i was just commenting thats all. live and let live.

I'm not following you around in particular. I merely respond to people making erroneous statements, which you seem to be making a lot of today.

 

I don't even think Purists care about the Jaster Mereel sutuation all that much, if I had to guess...They just see it as a way to further their claims that the EU is going against Lucas' intent in the movies, and that we're all nuts for "trying" to make it fit.

Just because something is not yet shown, doesn't mean it can't be explained.

Yet nothing has changed. Steve Sansweet merely said that a lot of Fett's past may be conjecture, rumors or false leads. He never said that he wasn't Jaster Mereel at one point, or that that piece of information was real or manufactured by Fett.

Until it's addressed in the EU, or contradicted on the movie screen ( Jango : "Fett, my son...you will always be known as Boba Fett and never by any other name". Boba : "Yes, father. I will keep that promise and never go against what you have commanded of me." ) there's no grounds for denying or confirming the status of Fett's background being changed.

Yes, his appearance in the movies have been gripping thus far. Anything they do in Attack of the Clones can only imrpove on it.

But just seeing that little kid, in those poses with that hair, I just want to smack him.

 

You mean his "Mentos, The Freshmaker" poses?

 

No, I mean that fake-ass martial pose with the fists. I think it goes down as my least favorite elements of Clones.

 

That's actually the pose I meant, in one particular shot. Lord Mauly Maul mentioned that if someone Photoshopped a Mentos pack in his ands and added that phrase, it would be perfect.

Rest assured, it's probably not in the movie. Reference photos always have various character poses and angles.

I didn't like him at first, and Daniel Logan still looks dorky, but I've gotten used to the young Fett.

Who cares who's acting in it?! They are either going to pick the most famous person they can get or the last person they can afford, not necessarily that best person for the part. That's Hollywood. Deal, people.

 

Well,he sure fits the EU's description of Boba..erm Jaster. Ugly as hell. He fell from the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

 

I have to agree he is one ugly kid.

 

I think it's just that moptop hair he has going on. Looks like a dorky kid from the 70's. At least Lucas is remaining consistent with later stories, like Luke's ANH hair.
