Boba Fett books weren't bad. First one parallels the events of AOTC. The final one seemed a bit rushed to me, though.

So I finished "Alphabet Squadron" last night. Fantastic book that got me saying "Oh crap" at the very last sentence. I know that it and the "Aftermath" books read rather simultaneously so instead of picking up the next book in that series I picked up "Aftermath." Got through the prologue and chapter 1 and I see why people can find the book jarring. It looks like it's mostly written in present tense. "She walks down the street and licks her ice cream cone, watching the cars drive past her." Vs. "She walked down the street, licking her ice cream cone, while watching the card drive past her." The change is subtle but it can be jarring if you're not used to it.

Last May I read the book "Dawn of the Jedi" and in it, the primary "current" storyline was written in normal past tense. Then he interjected memory sequences that were all written in present tense. It was freaking annoying. For me I didn't understand why if he was going to do that why didn't he reverse things, make the current storyline present tense and the memory sequences past tense...that would make sense, right? Weird writing choices riles up the English Major in me. /Rant

Anyways we'll see how it goes. So far I'm good w/ the story since these books will be covering all of the other New Republic fighters and heroes. Wedge making a first appearance puts the story at a good start.

I'm approaching the end of "Dooku: Jedi Lost" - another great story so far. Other than "Poe Dameron: Free Fall" - I've felt that the new canon books have all been well written and enjoyable. Looking forward to my copies (standard and Barnes and Nobel exclusive) of "Brotherhood" to show up this week. "The High Republic Edge of Balance V2" shipped also.

I still need to finish the Marchion Ro story in the last HR comic "Jedi's End" then I'll have that finished.

Finished both "Dooku: Jedi Lost" and "The High Republic Vol 3 Jedi's End" last night. Dooku was fantastic. If you've read "Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Force Collector" you find out what happened to Sifo Dyas. I thought this book pretty perfectly sums up his fate. I enjoyed the de-evolution of Dooku as a Jedi.

"Jedi's End" - I finished the Marchion Ro 2 parter. I still don't know much about him other than he's an a$$. Waiting a couple of years for things to pick back up again is going to be torture.

Today Starwars.com gave us this lovely! If the Barnes and Nobel copy has this as a poster I might need to buy 2 of them to pull one out - it's stunning.

I just picked this up at Target. Was 30% off and it comes with a bonus poster.

@PadmeLeiaJaina that Princess and the Scoundrel book looks promising. The poster would be nice to get with purchase.

I might need to get the Target version, apparently it has the book cover for the poster and the B&N is a schematic of Obi-Wan's ship

Yes it does have the book cover as a poster but it's double sided. On the back side it's Anakin against a black back drop with his blue lightsaber in bright color highlights.

    I need pics!

Guh IKEA just increased the prices for their Billy bookshelves. White ones are now $69 and the dark/light pine ones are $99 each.

Not sure how to add an image when it isn't on a link.

I finished Brotherhood in 4 hours last night. Once I started I couldn't put it down. The book has mentions to other novels such as Queen's Hope, Master and Apprentice, and the ROTS novel. I love the novelization of ROTS and the sun dragon sequences were heartbreakers.

My 2 copies of "Brotherhood" showed up today (Standard and Barnes and Noble.) B&N has a double sided poster, it's got the cover and the inside is the Obi-Wan schematics (I'd def prefer Anakin - lol.) So I guess I'll be ordering the Target version. Also arrived my "The High Republic: Edge of Balance Vol 2." I don't see anywhere in it that there's a Vol 3 coming, so maybe I read that wrong somewhere.

I'm currently working on "Heir to the Jedi" by Kevin Hearne and "Aftermath" by Chuck Wendig. "Aftermath" will get put on hold so I can read both of these this weekend.

So far I'm enjoying "Heir to the Jedi" - it's my understanding this was the first Canon book to come out. It's in First Person, Luke's perspective. The book is set between ANH and ESB. I like Kevin's take on Luke. He's not mopey and has a bit more confidence in himself but he still doesn't understand the Force much and he definitely hungers to learn about Anakin. I'm only part way in, but so far it's a good read.

Still on the fence about "Aftermath" lots of jumping back and forth between new characters in the beginning - it's kind of annoying.
So you blasted through it, is it good?

I finished The High Republic: Edge of Balance Vol 2. It was surprising.

Started Brotherhood - I'm going to try to take my time with it. So far I'm really enjoying the characterizations and atmosphere. I'm more than 1/2 way through Heir to the Jedi - It's been really good so far. I like getting into Luke's head and lots of fun adventure.

That was the first new canon book that I read. I enjoyed it as well. For some reason, my most vivid memories of the book are the scenes with the noodles.

I’m going to order Brotherhood as well. It will join a rapidly-growing queue of books to be read.

So far I'm enjoying Brotherhood. Then again I'm really enjoying all of the prequel books (except Jedi Trial...that was utter crap.)

I counted things on my spreadsheet - I've read something like 50+ books in the last year and there are like 150 Star Wars books to go...not counting books that are on pre-order and books like the Jedi Quest and Jedi Apprentice books (which there are a lot of them to read.) A very large number of those books are the old EU. I have no interest in the new Thrawn books so they're not counted. Those darned pre-orders make it so your list just keeps growing and growing. lol

Umm yummy noodles with Rancor sauce...lol.

I finished "Heir to the Jedi" last night. Bittersweet book, I ended up really enjoying it. I'm working on "Aftermath" again and "Brotherhood".

I just purchased a HB Bookclub edition of the Dark Nest trilogy! [face_dancing] I think I'm down to 4 more of the collections left to get. (Edit - no I forgot there are a few others also.) I think I'm down to only 1 of the NJO left - but there are several others I need to hunt down. HERE is a great resource for the Bookclub editions that are available and books that only came out in PB but have HB bookclub editions.

There are a couple of new exclusive books showing up that will be at Celebration. They include a signed boxed set of the High Republic books and an exclusive cover for The stories of Jedi vs Sith with Obi-Wan on the cover. Someday I really need to goto one of those cons, however, I would need to save up like 1/2 of my annual salary to go for what I'd want to buy! [face_laugh][face_laugh]

Finished "Brotherhood" last night. Great book. Other than "Jedi Trial" I've really loved all of the prequel era books. I'm an old timer Star Wars fan - am a fan since year one. I love my OT characters, but truly my heart belongs to the prequels so any stories that can further enhance them make me happy.

Also recently finished "Aftermath". Strange thing w/ those books. Once I figured out the present tense was bothering me I stared at the pages and started forcing my brain to read the verbs in past tense rather than present - now when I'm reading them my mind sort of translates them out of present tense, so they don't read as awkwardly.

I'm now working on "Aftermath: Life debt" - nice seeing our OT characters showing up in it. Although by now I really love all of the other characters as well.

Trying to decide what else to read. I also finished "Star Wars Legends Epic Collection: The Newspaper Strips Vol. 1" - so I can move onto the second volume of that. I do have some other graphic novels that are needing to be read so I might plow through those first.

Started the "Doctor Aphra" novelization/screenplay tonight as my intro to her character. She's very snort-worthy. Lol

Edit - I have the Aphra book in the reading pile - let me know if it's good!
