If it doesn't have a full schematic of the TIE Brute I don't know how much I'll care.

    :p

    I jest.

Despite being happy to get a guide I am still cringing how much it contains and compresses. I mean, we could get 3 full volumes of Locations filled with Andor, Kenobi, Rebels, etc. locations as crosssections. Let alone ships and visual dictionaries. sigh

Lets hope this is as expansive as the epic Rogue One and Solo ones.

The Rogue One guide remains the triumph of the Visual Guide format. There is just so, so much good stuff in there.

Admittedly I'm not too impressed with what we've seen so far, page number and layout are closer to Solo's guide which (imo) was vastly inferior to Rogue One's.
I think I would have preferred if they left TBB out given the page count, most of the informations in the preview are shallow summaries of what we see in the show anyway.

My main hope is to get good pics and names for the new imperial ships, such as the "old AAL", the tiny Lambdas in the fortress and the new ground speeders.

I want to see Armytroopers. See if (and hope) they keep what they established in the Solo guide.

I would think if they finally decide on what exactly the Armytroopers are, we'll be able to see them more consistently.

I haven't gotten a single one of the new sourcebooks because many have sounded halfbaked, but... I may check that one out. I don't remember people saying much about that one when it was released.

The Visual Dictionaries and Guides are always good value. And yes, the Rogue One guide is one of the best (and biggest), as is the TROS Visual Dictionary.

I'm curious about this guy wearing an army trooper uniform on the Niamos trial.

I wouldn't mind if it turned out that other species could be admitted inside the Army but not the Stormtrooper corps.

Amazon currently has it at a surprisingly low price, if you want to check it out with low financial risk. Alternately, if you live near an Ollie's, you might be able to pick it up at an even lower price if they happen to have it in stock.
Some precedent for this might be found in the Darth Vader comic, where we see non-humans given low-level "sub-administrator" tasks within the Imperial bureaucracy. The Imperial Army might have a similar outlook, admitting non-humans but presumably assigning them to menial tasks with low opportunity for advancement.

The Solo guide wasn’t as meaty as Rogue One, but it wasn’t exactly bare bones. Hey, want to know the backstory of the inexplicable floating head in formaldehyde guy?

    It did its job ably.

I don't remember the name of the species offhand, but that design was originally from The Rise of Skywalker.

Pulled out my TROS Visual Dictionary and apparently that is a Lacertilo, same species as a minor Resistance member.

The House Organa stuff, and speculation on what role the Elder Houses used to play when they were more than a ceremonial social club, continue to interest me and tug on my imagination...

Prestor was also is name in Legends. It first came from the ANH Audio drama. His full name of Bail Prestor Organa first appeared in 'The Paradise Snare'.

Strangely enough the TIE boarding craft's capacity has been retconned from 20 (as per the "owner's workshop manual") to 12.

Well well well, new Crymorah lore, including info from cancelled Amy Hennig's game.

Huh. I'm really not into the new sourcebooks, but this one looks genuinely spiffy. I think I'll go for it.

I’ve seen some people post parts of this book on Twitter today. Can anyone who’s bought it tell me whether it includes a good look / photo of Palpatine from Kenobi?

It's pretty great. Not as in-depth as some of the other guide books, but that's kinda to be expected considering publishing's having to hedge its bets around the TV stuff at the moment. Still, there's some nice write-ups and it, like the TROS Visual Dictionary, manages to weave various media together in a way that feels cohesive and insightful. Quite a lot of new names, designations, a few birth years, etc, but only a few select characters have full profiles; it's much more of an overview of the various aspects of the era, rather than focusing overly on specific characters.

@Sauron_18, no Kenobi!Palpatine, I'm afraid; his image is from ROTS.

Ooh yes, love some new species names. Anything for the giant earthworm people that are in both TFA and Kenobi?

I know the topic title says the book comes out November 5, but Amazon says December 5th. How could anyone have bought the book already.
